I'm not trying to write QD off after two games by any means.

I'm troubled by some things I've seen and don't think it's unfair to question him a bit. I just want to see our QB#1 (whether it's WD, JG, or McBride, who I wasn't high on at all on a recruit and who is looking like he'll make me look good and stupid lol) play at a higher level than we've seen the first two weeks.

Good stuff. Can work with this. :)

I was super excited for Ty Chandler.
I still believe he isn't much of a drop off from Cam Akers.

I always get frustrated at how fast other coaches are able to get their true freshman up to speed. Oklahoma for example had about 5 true freshman seeing significant time at skill positions vs Ohio st in game 2. We have yet to conquer that

They can't do that any more after last season. SEC games must be played.

It's gonna be on Saturday or Sunday and it's gonna be in Gainesville, a neutral site, or in Knoxville.

I will say that there is a greater than 50% chance it's not played in Gainesville though.

Neutral site is best for Vols imo. Not the swamp, but we don't end up with back to back games in the swamp like we could if it is moved to Knoxville.

Isn't that part taken out of either schools choice?

Mercedes Benz stadium idea on Saturday seems like the best choice. There is a soccer game at 4:00 and they work around it. (either have the game before or after the Soccer game) The Falcons play at 8:30 on Sunday, so they would have time to clean up, etc.

Nothing is black and white with them. Man won't even name a starter at QB. He wants Dormady to play well enough so he won't have to do it himself. Man up and do it yourself as a coach. Named starters everywhere else but at the most important position on the field huh?

Really OVERTHINKING this. That's not like you. :)

Monday would be great

Our coaches love seniors/upperclassmen too much. IMO Palmer and Chandler too good to keep off the field. They will play the young guys but won't feature them.

I think Chandler and Akers even personally talent wise. Both are elite guys.

I'm sure we would go down swinging, but the SEC has the final call. I believe that would be a brutal task for this Tennessee team after the last week.

I wonder if given the option would UT rather play on Friday and have another short week or play at Neyland on Sat and have the full week but 2 straight trips to the Swamp to follow.

You have to think about the TV (CBS is broadcasting) Concessions, etc.

I'm not sure what CBS has on before or after the soccer game or on Monday. This is just something that apparently is being legitimately discussed (Saturday) if that article I posted is correct.

According to that article, they don't want to play at Neyland:

"According to sources, it would be Tennessee's preference to not host the Gators at Neyland Stadium on Saturday, which would in turn mean playing at Florida two seasons in a row to get the home-and-home rivalry back on schedule.

It would also leave Tennessee with back-to-back road SEC games at Florida and Georgia next season and only six home games on schedule."

Tifwiw but same guy that told me about Kirkland being hurt says there is some worry about florida pushing to play on Friday.

Is the timing of Jose an issue that might get the game moved up a day?

Have heard nothing of that nature on my end. All I know for certain is:

Sec asked a SECW team if we could use their venue, they said no

-Neyland is an option
-Atlanta is also an option.

Although most soccer fields in Tennessee are played on football fields, they do not have the same dimensions. Similar, but nor exactly the same. So, they would have to re-line the field and re-number it and put up or take down the goalposts. Probably, not as quick and easy as u are assuming. Maybe it can be done in a couple hours, but I would think it would take at least a full 8 hour work day.

Big undertaking for security, concessions, traffic, and all that goes into a game day. Not to mention game after torrential downpour all week might do to a playing surface.

Mercedes Benz Stadium would be able to handle it. And the stadium would be full! Please let it be there, as I will probably try to go, as long as we don't have much destruction in our area where I live.

I'd bet money they pick 6 him next week but I'm a Vol fan so I can't do it.

Breakerboy is the flamboyant lawyer in the movie that defends the guilty terrorist. You "hate him" even though you know he is just doing his job because he enjoys it too much!

Even when he is right he frames it in a way that pis**s everyone off.

I may need to be quiet on players on the team I don't think are good. Once I see a bad player I have a hard time holding back. We don't have the coaching to fix issues and that's apparent. Team looked better coached years 2-3 than in years 4-5. That's a huge problem for me. Looks like we are regressing on the field.

This is true... There is so much that goes into this decision, as others have mentioned.
