Defensively I'm at a 6 or 7. The D rotations (or lack thereof) are just mind boggling. How you continue to play Jumper is beyond me. Someone said it best yesterday in that it'd probably be better to just play with 10 without Jumper than with a full 11 that includes Jumper. He misses more tackles than he actually gets. He gets in the way of our players trying to make plays. He is a liability at best and will cost us dearly in a game that matters.

Also might as well plug in someone else besides Martin and let them get up to speed because he (regardless of injury) is not starting material.

They should be rotating Phillips and Johnson more at DE as well as possibly plugging in Ignont more.

These coaches seem to evaluate performance poorly and then rotate based on those piss-poor evaluations. Supposedly Martin had the best camp which cannot be remotely true based on what he's displayed in these first 2 games.

I'm also concerned about the intensity of our D. Yes, these first two offenses have been unconventional and a little tricky to defend but there seems to be no intensity, no passion, no dog to get after it on D.

There's always a few that work out but not worth the risk. Can't rely on them to play significant roles. See Alexis Johnson two years ago. We basically didn't take a DT that class. Maybe find one a class to take a gamble on.

It goes for the ones we've missed on too. We missed a few to Florida, Auburn and UGA... never to be heard of again. I'm thinking DL here... that JUCO receiver to FL we dropped for Pearson also

Still talk about next Saturday being postponed?

From a football standpoint I hope so. We aren't ready imo

I think it's highly likely that it's not played in Gainesville. FSU/Miami have set the bar and already postponed their game so I think UF will follow suite.

Whether they move it to a neutral site or to Knoxville next weekend is up in the air. I'm inclined to think they postpone it altogether for fear of the affects and aftermath of the storm.

I'm in the 8+ range of concern on D. Jacksonville State had a better scheme, play calls, and execution based on talent than we did against GT. If you did not see how soft we were on the edges yesterday, I don't know what else to tell you. ISU was able to run at will outside with not even Conference USA level talent. Think about it. The tricked up motion typically works for about a quarter and D's adjust. Ours never did. This contain style D will get us killed in the SEC.

It is crunch time for Shoop and Butch. The O and ST's are set and functioning well at this stage. If the past half dozen games or so is the real Bob Shoop he may be gone mid-season, which would be terrible for Butch's future. I'm hopeful he's got an improved plan that will reveal itself this weekend. I hate it because I was 100% in on the hiring of the guy.

I don't know if they can postpone it. No other date to make it up.

Can anyone name the last JUCO who did not transfer from a top D1 program, or was not incredible in HS, but lacked grades to become a dominant force in CFB?

Just asking, because I don't know of any. Some of you are more dialed in

EDIT: I'm sorry, that first sentence is not working. I'm tired and can't get it right. I think you know what I'm trying to say though

What was the story on Nick Fairly? CP didn't even have a recruiting profile. Lavon Pearson was flipping burgers.

When did they make the call last year to cancel Florida LSU? Seems like the thing to do is to wait til Monday night.

I know you guys don't want anything positive right now but too bad you're getting it anyway. ISU couldn't run up the middle. Our DTs stopped any push the center and guards tried on them. Once again Tuttle is a man.

Who is opposite Berry on kickoff return? If it's not Chandler this week then what are we even doing.

Abernathy had earned his spot there, IMO. He's a great lead blocker for our returners and not a bad returner himself if they kick it where our KR can't get it.

Did make me laugh when the squibbed it last week and the guy who caught it was our PR lol

CP and Pearson were both good in HS. A dude approached Pearson while flipping burgers and said, "aren't you that dude that was killing it? Why are you here?"

Fairly came to mind but I have no clue

They can't do that any more after last season. SEC games must be played.

It's gonna be on Saturday or Sunday and it's gonna be in Gainesville, a neutral site, or in Knoxville.

I will say that there is a greater than 50% chance it's not played in Gainesville though.

I hope they can keep it on a Saturday. I won't be able to watch a Monday morning game over here :(
