It always said young OL are ahead as run blockers as opposed to pass. We might have seen that today with Smith.

Shoop is known for having an aggressive D. I highly doubt he is going to go into a game like UF without dialing up blitzes. I'm a little concerned about our defense but I still think they can be good. Next week will answer a lot of questions.

I'd agree if he hadn't looked better Monday against better defensive players.


They had 4 days to rest up, study film on ISU's defense, and get some live reps in practice against a scout team to get prepared. I'm hoping that has more to do with it than anything.

Yea I am not down on him. Richmond is another story though. I wonder if Jones played well enough at RT to think about Kendrick playing LT and getting Boulware or Thomas in the middle.

Ok. So let's talk some positives from today for just a sec.

Ty Chandler on that return? Nice.

MC returning looked nice as well.

Teams have been great under CBJ.

What were some other bright spots?

I'll have to go back and rewatch. Nothing Jones didnreally jumped out as bad to me while I was watching today, but I usually miss a lot when I'm watching live because I tend to watch the ball a bit more in live play than watching replays.


Just seemed to me like the unit as a whole was a little sluggish today.

Tuttle got his first live action since his injury.

Palmer/Johnson seem to be solid in the receiving Corp

I liked the emphasis on the short passing game, getting the ball into playmakers hands and letting them do just that.

No serious injuries

JG got his first live action.

Kyle Phillips starting to make some plays.

Only 7 days until we're 3 and 0.
