I am starting to think Marshall may just be special, too. I remember Paul Johnson saying about 3 weeks before the game, he knew who the QB was going to be. Isn't Marshall a RS freshman? Doesn't matter, Johnson saw the talent and knew he was better than the more experienced Jordan, that beat VT last year. Like dude posted above, Jordan came in and it was 3 and out. Maybe Jordan hadn't found his flow, yet or maybe it was like guarding LeBron (sorry,Bass) all game and then getting to guard Dallas Bowling for a minute. U went from facing the best at what they do to pretty good.

Look at that analogy, somehow I referenced 2 VN members and LeBron

He was definitely the better out of the two and PJ knew that. I have no idea if he will continue to be a force as the season goes on but he was definitely one quick talented runner.

Marshall was an A back his freshman year before getting converted to QB last year. I think Paul Johnson did the equivalent of putting your fastest player at QB and dominating like it was a NCAA game

Did you all notice that outside of one WR, Michigan was very slow on offense? Their RB's looked slow. Isaac was at least powerful. That team put up 400+ on Florida with only one playmaker (Black at WR).

I have about 5 families coming in from Florida tomorrow. It'll be a busy week but I think football will he's great distraction. any ideas for mass feeding via grill that's different from dogs and burgers?

Santa Maria Style Tri-Tip

It's cheap, easy, and seriously good. Traditionally served with beans, Santa-Maria style salsa (yes for the meat), and buttered garlic bread.

Shoulders are for smoking, I don't know how you'd cook something that thick on direct heat.

You can set most kettle grills and gas grills up for indirect heat. For a gas grill, light one burner on low-medium and put the shoulder on the opposite side. On the grate over the lit burner, I used to put a foil pie plate with some wood chips in it to create smoke. It's not the same, but it does it in a pinch.

I felt like I was watching us play Auburn again from a couple years ago in Neyland when Nick Marshall was their QB. Great athlete that was tough to stop in an offense that fits his abilities very well.

Somebody said TaQuan is Nick's little brother. Idk, I haven't fact checked, yet.

We better hope it was just their offense. If our defense is that bad, we're in trouble and Shoop is outta here.

Shout out to Ziti posting as much as he has the past couple of days. One of the few posters that has kept some of the crazies in check.

Why get technical with football stats or coaching schemes or the development of players? I say, try to have a wait and see approach. We will know a lot more about this football team after they play UF in Gainesville in a couple of weeks.

For example, the opener last year versus Appalachian State was much less than impressive. However, based on how we finished the season last year (taking into account injuries to significant members of the team), it is safe to say that such game was not a good predictor for how the team would perform through the rest of the season, correct? So, why should we use the GT game as a predictor for what is to come for this team in SEC play?

Having concerns is fine. Blowing them out of proportion like LWS and saying we will break more defensive records (in a very bad way) this year is a different animal.

My concerns, for example, are getting this defense healthy and getting Shoop's brain back. I don't think this is as much of a hot seat year for Butch as it is for Shoop. Last, I think it is time to move on from Justin Martin. He is just not good.
