I think they definitely should have put Johnson, Picou and even Bain out there more and kept kmack and Vickers fresher. The backups couldn't have been much worse than totally gassed starters.

I think that group will look totally different in a few weeks with Tuttle back and playing against normal offenses.

I know Picou played some.

We lose JJ and DK for the year.

When will Austin Smith be healthy?

Sapp?
Josh Smith returning soon, wr corps shouldn't be that bad off.

If we are losing those two playmakers but gaining much less turnover and penalties that may be fair trade.

Still have some tremendous playmakers on offense long as we aren't turning the ball over and PLAY BETTER DEFENSE we'll be fine

Hate to bring it up but with the emergence of Bituli, we should probably start him and McDowell, and depending on if someone else steps up maybe not even McDowell. The speed difference btw 35 and Jumper is significant, and that's Jumpers main knock on his game to me. Still think he's alright, just a bit too slow.
I think if he is gonna be in the game the coaches need to put him in position to be successful. Running sideline to sideline trying to contain the edge isn't his thing. I did think he looked better in the first quarter when he was fresh. Our guys were on E midway through the second.

Cool story bro moment...
We're in Naples for a few days, and cable was out so we went to a bar to watch the game. We were 4 Vol fans in a Sports bar plastered with Gator swag.
There was one other young guy in there with a Vol shirt on, so we chatted. Turned out Byrd and Fils-Aime was his adopted brothers he said.
He told me 27 has tried every thing under the sun to gain weight and can't get past 180ish but has been working hard to. I asked about Byrd and corner, he said he doesn't want to play corner, wants to be a WR, but would def be better served there. No clue whether he was blowing smoke or for real, but he knew an awful lot about them, and said his parents were at the game to watch them.

Glad we squeaked out a win! That game was way too on edge for the season opener!!

Thought the same. If we run the 4-2-5 I'd like to see Bituli and A.Smith in that slot with rotations of McDowell and Sapp in there. We have some potential to get several guys who can make plays out there

V true. If they just let him patrol the middle of the field I think he could do well, may be able to get some INTs even. Although, he doesn't need to cover TEs. Against Nauta of UGA LY he was exposed.

That definitely makes sense. Goes to show that we as fans sometimes don't know as much as we think we do about coaches decisions, etc.

I'm hoping Ignont is the real deal and gets in the rotation as well.

I didnt pay attention to how much he played, but I believe Picou was in on the last play.

Thank you. That will help settle some debates.

Who am I kidding? No it won't.

Concerning Florida...

I actually feel very confident for our chances. They had 53 snaps last week against Mich. No way they get more than 65 against us. Our DL should be able to handle their OL since they'll be a yard closer. They actually didn't score an offensive point last week ( I don't count FG as offense), so their PPP on offense is 0, .288 when you factor D and ST, which would put them at 112th LY. If we establish the run game early our offense should do enough to get us a comfortable win. But you can never expect the coaches to come out with the best plan.

Aw man I missed the 1st page. Oh well.

24 hours later, still pumped to pull out that win last night. Lots to work on but 1-0 is still 1-0.

Man he looks good out there

Ha, no doubt!! He also said, and I wasn't gonna say this, but wth, that he did not like the contact involved with playing corner.
With JJ hurt, he's gonna get a lot of plays going his way now I'd say. He and Calloways chance to shine!
