What's up, boys??!! Are y'all at each other's throats in here?
All I can say is wow! What a game and refuse to lose mentality. I'm very glad that game is behind us, and I hope we don't see that offense ever again. We have a lot to work on, but kudos to those kids for not quitting.
Probably the most concerning thing I saw tonight was that we are a soft football team. We don't try to punish RB, QB, or WR when they have the ball. We let them hit us instead. GT was by far more physical than us. That's concerning when we get into SEC play. You have to play physical in this league. It's a mentality and not something you can turn off and on.
You have to attack a triple option offense. I've never seen UT really attack that offense, I really do believe it is fear of injury that caused the passive game plan. We are paper thin at LB and DT. If we lose two to three starters at those positions in this game to knee or ankle injury...then what happens to the rest of the season? I really think that they didn't plan on the offense struggling so much to start the game. If we put up two more scores early in the first half then it forces GT out of their Modus Operandi.
