Good read... However...

No mention of Casey Clausen is blasphemy. IMO... second best behind Manning.

Clausen WON... A LOT!!

His road record was the best of any UT QB ever.

I can't understand why he is so overlooked. Maybe because he was fairly low key or something.

It is only hard to figure out if you look at his individual stats. They were good no doubt but if you look at the things fans care about it isn't hard, 1-3 in bowls, 0 for Ga, lost 8 games his last two seasons, several really bad blowout losses, 0 SEC rings, followed a NC winning QB who followed the GOAT, played under Randy Sanders, stupid comments during interviews both during and after his playing days.

But he "Beat He// Out of Michigan," to quote CPFulmer.

To quote ESPN's Mel Kiper: "It was over when Casey Clausen took the first snap."

The worst beating Michigan has ever had in a bowl.

When you're weaving the CFL and Arena League into your argument, then it's officially a reach. But at the college level (which is all that matters as far as UT success is concerned) then UT has had very good QB play over the last 40-50 years, in general.

I have to give Butch credit on this one. Two years ago we had recruited good receivers but they had not produced at all. Injuries and perhaps poor coaching hurt us. At the time Dobbs was primarily a runner. Our Oline was bad and a major story line. Yet Butch is able to go get top notch QBs. Over the next two years he develops Dobbs into an NFL draft pick. Somehow he recruits good receivers and we are back in business. We still need to recruit elite receivers but I see that coming.
