Charlottesville white nationalists riots

Corker apparently sees himself as a budding Lindsey Graham.

I can't see why we would expect anything different; he was handpicked by the GOP to be mayor of Chattanooga as a stepping stone to the Senate. They wouldn't even let his non-residency get in the way. There was a lawsuit about that issue; it died and was buried in the night - not even a whisper in the news after - just nobody else in the contention for the GOP spot. That means somebody was paid off or threatened - as in afraid for his life.
Corker was Jimmy Haslam's roommate in college. What does that tell you?

Provide her perspective. Even if it doesn't seem to make a dent, it was still placed in memory. You implying that it's a lost cause is exactly why our country is as divided as it is. No one sits down and listens to anyone. it's all my way and your way is wrong even when there's a glaring amount of ignorance on the opposite view. It's all shouting matches in 140 characters or less. There's no substance, no debate, no compromise. As a lawyer, you show up even if the case doesn't look promising during the trial. You do that to represent your client to CONVINCE the jury of your clients perspective. Are you saying that lawyers are clear to not show up just because "thine own self be true" applied?

I still don't think you understand the meaning. I don't see where she implied anything was a lost cause. She doesn't want to meet the president, because she doesn't want to be in the same room with someone that she finds repugnant. What could come of sitting down with him? To thine own self be true means that she is not willing to compromise her principles and beliefs to talk with Trump.

As for me, to thine own self be true simply means that I don't compromise my ethical standards for anyone.

so you're only worried about killings if they're done by white power racist. as long as it help push your party's Marxist agenda, you don't care about the murders between black, Hispanics, etc...

I think most people know this.
You don't understand. People who share his political agenda are more pure. They are better people, and their death is much worse.

Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei used his English-language Twitter account on Wednesday to declare, “If the U.S. has any power, they better manage their country, tackle white supremacy rather than meddle in nations’ affairs.”

Yep.

Bob Corker is/was in tight with the right people, both in the City of Chattanooga and the state.

I lived in Chattanooga during the end of his stint as mayor. More specifically, I lived in the apartments that stood where BCBS now has their offices on top of Cameron Hill. I remember coming home one day to see a flyer on my door handle stating that the apartments had been purchased and we all had to move. The flyer went on to say that there would be new buildings built at the base of the hill complete with artist renderings, that they would have comparable pricing, and that all Cameron Hill tenants would have the first opportunities at securing residence in them. I never bought that for a second. That was 2004. To my knowledge, there's never been ground broken to fulfill the pledge of new apartments for Cameron Hill residents. Guess who bought Cameron Hill to sell the land to BCBS. Yep, Corker and some investor friends. All while he was the acting mayor of the city. Now, do I think that it benefits the city more to have BCBS offices up there or apartments? BCBS, obviously. But the fact that he had a hand in profiting off of it, and obviously never intending to build new structures for those displaced, all while acting as the city's mayor never set well with me. It's actually the reason why I ditched (most of) my apathy towards politics.

New York, both the city and the state, is named after the house of York and particularly for James Stuart, then Duke of York, one of the most successful slavers in colonial American history.

The statue of the slave emancipator appears to be burned, reported NBC 5 Chicago.

The burning appears to lend credence to President Donald Trump’s prediction that not only Confederate generals would come under attack, but also other famous American figures. Lincoln, however, did not own slaves and emancipated black people during the Civil War.

When have historical facts ever stopped the left from being retards?

NEWTON, N.C. - Tension continues to mount nationwide over Confederate statues and monuments, and Thursday morning, President Donald Trump defended the statues, tweeting, “You can't change history.”

Thousands filed into Newton Thursday afternoon for the 128th annual Soldiers Reunion Parade.

During the parade, Channel 9 saw that one man with a gun was taken into custody. Eyewitness News reporter Dave Faherty witnessed the incident and said the man went over to some Civil War re-enactors and pepper sprayed them.

Oh yeah, I know all about that. Native Chattanoogan, born and never have left. I just used the phrase "was/is" to mean that he has had those connections for a long time and continues to have them.

Corker used to own most of the large office buildings downtown through his company. 2006 was a really convenient time for him to run for Senate and have to unload those because it was also when the real estate market peaked. There are still a ton of largely empty office buildings downtown.

Should he have ambitions for higher office, there is no shortage of dirt than can be dug up on him. Multiple real estate deals, a blind trust that might not have been so blind, potential insider trading with CBL (which is HQed in Chattanooga and Bob is friends with the CEO).

Why are communists, race-hustlers, and the rest of the leftist misfit gang so focused on removing historic monuments relating to the Civil War and the Early Republic?

In case you haven’t heard, white southerners (particularly males and especially Christians), are responsible for all of the ills in America.

Put another way, white southerners are the dam preventing the left from turning this constitutional republic into a tyrannical socialist state with an amoral relativist culture and an enforced victimization code.

The long term goal of the left is to physically displace white southerners and their political power. This they do by mass-immigration, and conversion centers (also called colleges).

In the mean time, though, the left is out of power. They do not control any branch of the federal government. They are decimated on the state level.

But being the emotional creatures that they are, the left is willing to settle for symbolic victories. That is where the statues come in.

Whether it is Robert E. Lee or George Washington, these statues under such assault project the success and power of white southerners. The left cannot have that.

So the left wants to shame white southerners for slavery once again before pulling the plug on historical markers.

By erasing history, the left can write it’s own future. A future without the white southerner standing in the way of “progress.”

A future where Islamic refugees and female fathers gaze upon the town square.

Don’t laugh. The left isn’t.

You're leaving significant parts out.

When was Trump ever desired by the Republican Party? He skunked their preferred candidates and they never wanted him to begin with.

I predicted a scenario like this months ago. The 2 party system has become a temporary 3 party group. D, R, and the Trump party since nobody wanted him to begin with (except of course his voters).

We didn't want Trump either - just didn't want the Dim or Rep more. Hiliary would be president if Trump ran as an independent. It's the yellow dog democrap - in both parties; that's why we can't get change.

I don't care if people buy cars or hamburgers based on brand loyalty, but I sure wish they were more discriminating about who runs the county and reject both national brands.

If we had a parliamentary system, I think you'd see that.

More than 60 per cent of Americans say that statues of Civil War figures associated with the defense of slavery should be left in place, a new poll has revealed.

The poll from NPR/PBS NewsHour/Marist offers a measure of support for President Donald Trump's stance on the issue.

Just 27 per cent of people said that the monuments should be removed from parks, roads and schools across the United States.

And, in a striking breakdown, 44 per cent of African Americans agreed the statues should stay, against 40 percent who said they should be removed.
