I had never heard of the Daily Stormer until this morning. Checked it out and was floored. At first glance it seemed so ridiculous I thought it was a parody site of some kind. Became even more floored when I discovered how popular it apparently is.

Putting on my tinfoil hat I kind of think the mayor was hoping the outnumbered supremacists would get a beat down from the counterprotestors, and that would send some sort of message. Why else would you remove the police and order them to not arrest anyone?

One other thing to remember along those lines...

Just because they trend in a certain way doesn't correlate with active supporters. Hell, Septic looked it up (contributing to the "popularity") and saw it was trending. Huff obviously helped it along.

Sometimes people will check it out, especially in times like this, just to see how bad it is. Doesn't mean the people clicking on it are racist or support a white supremacy doctrine. Could be going in like Huff to find something extremely distasteful.

Wouldn't draw the conclusion necessarily.

This is a national and world wide story. The woman who was murdered is at the very center. A person who knew the woman issued a statement about her and CNN reported it.

I fail to see the problem.
