Unbelievable, a news network quoting someone. Never heard of that happening before. Your gripe may actually be with the person who made the quote.
No, my gripe is with CNN putting that quote out there.
For ****'s sake, man, that had no business in the same article as her mother, THE MOTHER, accepting Trump's condolences.

Well now wait a second, here.
They print the mother thanking Trump, and then they print a comment by a friend bashing Trump for the same thing. Certainly one could accept his comments today as better late than never, and some could view them as disingenuous.
CNN printed both. Is that not a perfect example of CNN being fair and balanced?

* "We have learned from a senior law enforcement source from other county, who was here [in Charlottesville]... that officers were instructed to make no arrests without the explicit approval of the Charlottesville mayor. Our law enforcement source says that he was outraged by that instruction."
The Charlottesville chief of police categorically denied this.
* However, McKelway says: "I can say, havig been in Emancipation Park from early on that morning, that what I saw with my own two eyes confirms what this law enforcement source told us. At least from all visible apearances. We saw people coming out of that park who had headwounds, who were bleeding from the head, people walking into that park with bats, with sticks -- you saw what they were wearing -- helmets, body armor, they had come -- and this pertains to both sides -- they had come to do damage.. you cannot help but notice from that video that police had been more pro-active, they could have potentially calmed this thing down to some degree."
* He was told during the day that if reporters had to, they could retreat to the police staging area. However, when protesters began throwing tear gas and the reporter tried to take shelter in the staging area, he was told he could not come in, the police said "No, don't come in here... we're leaving. It's too dangerous."
He says you can see the police "filing out of there, single fire, and making a beeline out of there." The chief of police says they were "making a retreat" to put on riot gear, but the reporter wants to know that having seen people with bats and armor, why were they not already wearing riot armor?
Virginia State Police Say They Were Not Outgunned in Charlottesville Riot Despite McAuliffe Claim
McCauliffe tried to make this retarded claim in defense of their handling of this situation, and hoping to spin it into a political plea for gun control. But police were told to stand down. The Dir of Public safety watched it all unfold from his 6th floor lookout, comparing it in his words - to a hockey game. And maintained that everything went swimmingly. Wtf? If people should be outraged at a public officials it should be these idiots. But no, it's Trump's fault.
Clearly some things are at odds there. The mayor says they're going to review the permit process, I don't know what else that could mean other than screening who gets one. Then the cops say they couldn't stop the violence because free speech means you can stand wherever you want. So which is it, free speech and assembly worked an intended or we need to restrict who's allowed to assemble based on the message?
