You continue to avoid addressing the subject at hand, instead thinly alluding to unrelated topics and organizations in hopes of redirecting attention from the threads topic. That's the very definition of deflection.

the essence of the Southern conservative male--or maybe I should broaden it to conservative middle American male: When it comes to their political viewpoints, they are all low-information, fact-free attitude and little else. This explains their usual six-word word responses. Perhaps it is because when they do try to say more, it's usually factually incorrect....or worse, just plain lame.

It's idiotic grandstanding. The council is formed to confront real issues that people actually care about that actually impact people's lives. Yet that gets thrown out the window because Trump condemned ALL forms of hate. THE HORROR

It's clear you like to speak in absolutes. Of course there are ramifications for making a statement. We spend considerable time on this very board discussing those ramifications.

In your case, my comment was simply a reminder that sometimes it is better to remain quiet and be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt. You called someone a fool and based that assumption on a demonstrably false statement.

Not the best PR optics given the situation. He unleashes on a black man about one hour after the announcement, yet crickets on neo-Nazis.

He'll throw anyone under the bus to save face. He claims to care most about loyalty, when he has none to anyone but himself and his ego.

This is why he commends despots and autocrats. They appeal to his nature.

What you don't get is that Trump used the tired "condemning all hate" message as an excuse to not actually condemn the real problem in this instance, which is hate coming from a defined group of people.

All it does is feed the impression that Trump sides with them, or at least is their protector. And certainly values their support at the ballot box.

Trump is no longer just incompetent or embarrassing to thinking Americans. He's now just shameful.
