I wish the first part of your statement was true, but I would put it at about 95%. (Still better than 50 years ago....progress)

I disagree with the last part of your statement. The local people there to show there disapproval of white racist supremacists were doing exactly as they should. Any one on either side that resorted to violence first is despicable, but almost 100% of the blame falls on the right-wing idiots.

As in the Trump rallies where his supporters were assaulted, spit on and pelted with eggs as they walked to and from the venue? As in the BLM/antifa crowd that forcibly entered or tried to break up the rallies from inside?
I'd be careful about guaranteeing who threw the first punch. Your counter protesters are spoiling for a fight where ever they show up. But yes, the behavior is inexcusable.
