Practice 7

Can you name one coach in the SEC that hasn't lost to any teams they shouldn't have? Come on. Every team in the SEC loses to someone they were supposed to beat every single year. Even Saban when he loses should never get beat. People need to realize winning 10 games plus requires everything to go your way. With the competition is this league any coach that wins 8 games in a season is earning his job. Now if a team is losing to all the teams they are supposed to lose to and never upsets anyone that's a bigger problem to me than someone losing one to someone they were supposed to beat. The Talent in the SEC top 8 teams is really good and can beat any team on any Saturday.

That's not even a SEC thing. Lol. That's just a football thing.

Loses that shouldn't have happened last season....
Clemson lost to Pitt
Michigan lost to Iowa
Houston lost to SMU
Washington lost to So.Cal
FSU lost to UNC
TCU lost to Arkansas
Louisville lost to Kentucky
Mississippi state lost to South Alabama
Georgia lost to Vandy
Auburn lost to Georgia

It happens all the time in football. I think some people need to find a different sport. Something more predictable.

You have to remember something about D4H, he doesnt think Barnett was that good. He was in love with Myles Garret even though stats proved Barnett was far better. Also, he doesnt even know who Reggie White is. Anyone who tries to argue Josh Dobbs in the same universe as Peyton Manning when it comes to passing the football is beyond help.

D4H needs to watch this lil short video about Reggie White. "The Minister of Defense".

So does Payton

I always thought she was pretty still...while she painted...

Man looking at the future and realizing that we will have JG at qb, Coleman, Jordan and chandler in the backfield, and palmer, Jacques jones, and latrell Williams at receiver.. I'm getting chills

Potential is not production. I am in couraged that we have the players needed to fill the shoes of departed players but I never count on any given freshman. Experience is so valuable.

I think I only saw on throw from McBride in those clips. Just thought with him getting his stripe off, maybe he was getting a closer look/more reps. He was always 3rd QB during drills and they did not show his throws, other than one I saw.

I just was wanting to see how he looked on his throws in practice if anyone noticed more.

Thanks for the warm welcome! (I know there were multiple welcomes; this was just the first one I saw) It gets lonesome here in AZ being a Volunteer fan so I thought I'd sign up.

Also by chance anyone know Bumphus' number? Keep wanting to see if his in these clips because I keep reading about him
Your not alone phx here from nashville

I feel for you two guys. I spent 3.5 yrs in Tucson and don't misunderstand, AZ is a nice place. But it's a long way from Voland. I finally had to ask for a remote yr in Korea to get a follow on assignment back to the South. It was to Florida though......UGH!

See..I hate it when I am out couraged. Just doesn't feel good really.

The defensive ends will be better this year than last year. Kongbo and Taylor are upgrades over Barnett and Vereen. They are more gifted physically and have better upside. Barnett and Vereen were very much overachievers. Kongbo and Taylor have more potential. I also like the depth Phillips, Johnson, and Butler provide.

I'm very optimistic about the DEs this year.[

Your hammered aren't you?

They're roster is more talented due to the players that came back for they're senior season and the caliber of player that each of those guys are. That kind of experienced upper level talent is huge. Imagine if Barnett, Malone, and Kamara had all stayed for this season what expectations would be like? That is the situation they have at UGA. They have questions at WR and OL. That's the only reason they are not a preseason top 10 team.

Wr and OL are 2 areas you don't want questions at. Especially OL if you have to rely on the run game.

Maybe you MEANT to say that but you didn't. You said:

Statements like this just make people more likely to discount your opinions due to the absurdity of it.
Kongbo has better measurables (physical gifts) and is faster than DB last I heard. Measurables and physical traits is why Myles Garett went over DB in the draft even though DB is clearly better.

D4H isn't wrong for saying that Kongbo is more physically gifted. I don't know if he'll be a better player, doubtful actually, but he is a freak of nature.

Unless you're arguing against that, I'm not sure why you're giving him such a hard time.

You do know how stupid this post is... right?

I hope the DE's are great but to say they're going to be better at this point... can only be described as stupid.

You do remember that Barnett broke the sack record of a UT and NFL LEGEND, right?

Barnett was an overachiever. I think we'll have better overall talent at DE this year. I absolutely love the trio of Kongbo, Taylor, and Phillips a lot more than Barnett, Vereen, and Lewis.

I'm not as worried about DE as I am DT.
That position was savaged by dismissal and injury last year and was the biggest cause of the 600+ yard games.
I somehow wish Tuttle and Mac would wake up one day feeling 100% healthy.

No. Barnett was a consistent performer from the moment he stepped on campus. There's more even to the physical gifts a player possesses than you can measure with a stop watch. Ultimately, talent is proven by performance. I hope those other guys are great. But there's virtually no chance that any of them break Barnett's performance records.

Right. Double down on stupidity. Why should we expect anything less from such an "above average" layman?
