Absolutely no reason to go after to the meme source - zero, nada. Indefensible. It's not a story. There are millions of memes on the Internet. Worse to double down by suggesting you are being magnanimous by "withholding" the name while at the same time trashing the guy for implying he's made all sorts of offensive comments. Then they suggest we'll only out him if he does it again.

CNN deserves every bit of crap they get for this. They over reacted to the original meme. When people rightly suggested they were over the top with the "this will get journalists killed" CNN decided to double down and "uncover" the mastermind behind the dangerous meme.

Trump was childish to retweet it but CNN decided to show him what childish really was. They got trolled to the nth degree and they are getting the just deserts.

Agreed. Just as some of Trump's tweets have been below the dignity of the office this move by CNN is completely bereft of journalistic integrity. Petty and childish. Simply an egregious lapse in judgement. Welcome to the mud pit, CNN. I can only imagine how AC and Tapper must feel.

CNN didn't overreact. Trump has been threatening and trying to bully the media. You do not do that. That is a big deal--and he's been doing it now for weeks. That is what dictators do--control the media. I realize that a large percentage of the people on this board won't get this, but the media independence is a vital part of our democracy. You do not threaten the media. You don't like how certain networks are covering you? How about acting presidential instead of behaving like a corrupt, stupid, foolish autocrat?

Trump is a man who has been trying to promote himself as some glorious success story for 40 years. And like a lot of con men, he's been successful. Indeed, he just pulled off the biggest con job in the history of the country--getting you goofs to vote a deeply immoral and unqualified man. Now his goal is to get reelected--that is ALL he cares about, that and using the presidency to promote his businesses. Trump hasn't even been president for six months and he's already held half a dozen campaign events! He doesn't care about anything but spreading Trump bull$hit. Has no real interest in health care legislation--despite its mammoth importance; doesn't know the first thing about it. He just wants a bill so that he can bull$hit you people about how "great" it is. Trump is used to getting away with this BS. Now he can't--every foolish, stupid thing he does, every lie he spouts, is reported and checked and commented on, and he's pissed about it. He wants to lie and act like the total a$$ that he is and people to praise him for it. Strange man. Dangerous man.

As just about everyone on here knows, I am not a fan of Trump. I think your post is a bit of an overreaction. Trump is a fool, but lining the pockets of friends is nothing new to DC.

of finding this troll. Obviously, he was fairly easy to identify. He wasn't just some guy; he was a guy who made a meme that got picked up by our mobster president and used to try and mock and intimidate a specific network. It is unprecedented. Trump's behavior is unprecedented.

Do you and the rest on this board actually pay attention to what Trump does and says EVERY DAY? The lies, the crass insults. The incompetence? It is UNPRECEDENTED--dangerous. It is impossible to keep up with the foolish things he says and does--every day there is something new. Most of the people on this board need a serious intelligence and morality recalibration. Stop trying to defend Trump. He's a seriously bad character. Most thinking people are deeply disturbed that he's our president. You should be, too.
