When we get a three star recruit from Florida ranked around 1000, a lot of people boom because "Florida HS competition, man." Ok, fine. But UF has an entire roster of guys who played HS in that state, so if you subscribe to the HS competition theory, well, there's your answer.

I do agree with this. The problem though is that four of the players in the 2 deep at LB are 3 star players from Farmington, Michigan; Hoover, Alabama; Dallas, Texas, and Florida, who didn't have an offer from another instate school.

There are two starters on the DL who were 3 stars from Wyoming and Georgia. The Georgia one didn't get a UGA, Auburn, or Alabama offer.

They may all be good players, but it just isn't simply a roster full of Florida high school talent.

Edit: Even further, there is a two star DL in the two deep from Miami, and a three star from Pennsylvania, who didn't get a PSU offer or many P5 offers at all. Aside from Jefferson and maybe another player or two, their front 7 is young and raw.

Idk what it is but I feel a little weird about that Kentucky game this year. Could very well see Tennessee slipping up against a team like Kentucky or Missouri. Don't like being negative but Jones is just gonna have to prove it to me that he's a coach that's capable of winning 9 or 10 in this league.

We should always kill kentucky but a little concern with it right after what I hope is a very emotional Bama game.

Great idea.

If we were to add coaching into the ranking system, where would Butch rank? I think it's hard to give him more than a 3* at this point. Recruiting has been very good but the SC and Vandy games last year were brutal. And his media quotes have been cringe-worthy.

He's brought our program back to relevance and for that I'm thankful. This is THE big year for him, though. We'll know whether he has the mettle to lead us to the next level or not. I'm really hopeful the new coaches make the difference (think Fulmer/Cutcliffe as a comparison point).
