Hey Newt. You mentioned in another thread that you really like Cozumel. My wife and I are exploring resorts right now and are considering Cozumel. Is there a resort you like?

Ive stayed at a few there but if its just you and the wife I suggest the Aura(I think it is called Secrets Aura now). Adults only nice laid back vibe we got a swim up suite which was nice. If you go also make sure you rent a jeep and go to Coconuts on the southern tip.

That's the one we were looking at.

Did you do the "Jeep Tour" or did you just rent a Jeep? Did you go all inclusive?

Yes did the all inclusive its worth it especially if you want some cocktails...and yes I just rent a jeep there, that way you can go wherever you want. There are some beaches on that south end that are completely empty. Its so Americanized and so easy to get around.

The park Chankanaab (sp?) is cool too especially if you want some great snorkeling right off the shore. There is also a cool little place just south of Aura that you can stop at and they have tables on the beach and great guacamole...

Just don't rent the dune buggies that are all over the place, at least in my experience. When I was in Cozumel I did that and it was a waste. They look like a great time but my group rented 3 of them and all 3 were run down and we ended up only keeping them for a few hours before switching to a Jeep. Like Newt said, the Jeeps are definitely the way to go.

Did you guys take cash for these excursions or did you pay with a CC? If cash did you exchange it to pesos or did you just use us currency?

The party will be at the House of the Rising Sun in New Orleans... and not the bed and breakfast. Promotions call for hookers and blow!!!

I rented the jeep through the resort with a card but everyone takes the dollar there no need to exchange

How long you gonna be there? Remember to tip the bartender/bar waitresses at the resort very well right off the bat and they will take care of you. I brought cash for shopping in town too but other than that its all inclusive so take advantage of that.

I guess I can't make it. My wife won't let me participate in activities involving blow, hookers, or any combination of the above. :cray:
