BOOM! 4 star RB Commits

Gets redundant. Dude that rides around on a firetruck and runs into a burning building doesn't have to declare "I'm a firefighter" beforehand. :)

Lyn-J's highlight reel is amazing. He's going to absolutely shred a lot of defenses and his elusiveness makes him look like a dangerous kick returner as well. He'll probably bulk up some more during his senior year of high school and then the UT strength and conditioning program will turn him into a beast.

I'm so excited and I hope to see him play for us and not against us. Lyn-J's a stud.

Huge recruiting weekend for butch and Tennessee...

Don't know how any Tennessee football fan couldn't see this as great news. We all know how things can change, but its awesome tonight.

I don't follow recruiting much, wonder how this looks to Georgia fans?

They will. Just wait and see. I know Chatman will stay true, sister went to UT and the family are all for it. Hopefully, Grant will too, and give the Pups the one finger salute

Well its June so it is what it is but all three of these kids were strong on Tennessee... I'd of been more surprised had we not gotten these kids to commit at this point.

"Destroy"? Such a harsh word.

I figure it's a bunch of people on this site, so I'm not trying to "Destroy" any people. Hurt their little bammer and gator feelings? Yes. But not Destroy them, just their hopes and dreams of defeating the Vols.

Me or all the people that agreed, did so because of the negative but true post he made.
I, along with several others clearly said we're over it BECAUSE he never says anything positive in any thread. Pick any commit, go ahead, I'll wait, no matter how committed. If he can't sling sh##, then he has nothing to say.
This has been made clear adnaseum.
Anyone that doesn't understand at this point is just trying hard not to. He trolls, plain and simple.

THIS all day. :hi:

1st I think the last couple of days has shown that orange carpet day is well worthy the money.
2nd Any and all commits are great but we all know that we must wait till the ink is dry. That said probably 85-90% of commits hold true.

Great weekend and CBJ & staff are doing outstanding work!

Really good offer list.

Even with his college choice behind him, Dixon said he might not be ready to completely close the door on other schools. He said South Carolina, Clemson, Virginia Tech, Alabama and Florida are among the teams still recruiting him, and he hasn’t ruled out visiting at least one or two of them in the coming months. “I feel like I’m still going to take other visits,” he said.

Doesn't sound like it's a 100% done deal for him yet though

Dixon is still fishing, or so it sounds.

maybe, or maybe not...it's a june commitment, so it is what it is, and we've seen verbals not mean much in the past, so i don't think anyone really disagrees with the notion that until they sign, it's always up in the air.

as to what his intentions are, were, will be....no one really knows, especially if/when others continue to recruit and offer.

that said, he could have very well committed to any of the schools on his offer sheet....Bama, FL, GA, LSU, Mich, ND, OU, TX, Clemson etc....

The other side of the coin:

Originally Posted by :

Like Kamara, Dixon is a slash and dash tailback. He racked up more than 2,500 all-purpose yards and 38 touchdowns as a junior, making defenders look silly with an array of spin moves and nifty jukes. The 5-foot-11, 185-pound tailback needs to get stronger before coming to Tennessee, but Dixon said, “I’m a hard worker. I’m going to run the ball with a passion. I may not be the biggest on the field, but I’m sure not going to let anyone take me down. I’m going to run with that tough mindset and mentality.”

“Since 9th grade, we’ve had like a little friendship,” Dixon said of Gillespie. “I can click with him. He can click with me. The communication is always well. He doesn’t just look at me as a player but as a person. That’s what’s very special about me and coach G’s relationship.”

Dixon picked Tennessee over more than 15 offers, with significant interest from Va. Tech, Louisville and others. With his decision behind him, Dixon hopes to lead Taylor County, which went 10-2 in 2016, to a state title during his senior season.

“Knowing that after I made the commitment, that knocks off all the stress,” he said. “Now I can just worry about football for my high school team and worry about getting a championship for a city that really hasn’t had a good team in a really long time. It’ll be special to bring one back for the home crowd.”

Welcome Mr. Dixon. Looking forward to having you wear the orange.
Love the work that RG is doing. Listening to Doug Mathews this AM surprised me a little.
He was discussing what the offense would look like this year and the strengths and potential. Kelly is his acknowledged workhorse. The thing that surprised me is the category he put Ty Chandler in. He ranked him as the best running back out of Tennessee in recent memory. Specifically, he said better than Reggie Cobb. To me, that is lofty praise.

Heard that too. He's extremely high on Ty. Can't wait to watch the kid work. Be willing to be he'll be special.

It's why I don't put much stock in commitments until late November, early December.

Even then there's still plenty of 'wtf' moments between then and signing day.

it really doesn't matter when they commit. committing early doesn't make them any more likely to decommit.

until they sign, they're being recruited, nothing really prevents that.
