I always thought he should have started at corner, but it's too late now. He flashed when he got touches last year though so I'm excited to see what he and Jennings do this yearIt may be too late now, but I would argue that we have much more talent at WR than at corner at the moment barring the freshmen being able to play right away. Byrd was a better corner in high school than a receiver, see Army game for evidence of this. I just think guys like Williams and Jones can do what Byrd can at WR, but Byrd could potentially be a shut down corner
It was hard for us older fans to accept the changing dynamics of HS football in this state.
Not that long ago, Tennessee would produce 5-7 D1 prospects each year. It was important to land those players for us.
Now the state is loaded. Several D1 players across the state. Producing as much if not more talent than Alabama.
I post this in response to losing recruits like Teague. The more talent production the less likely a school will pull all the players. Sure you want the best players from the state but it's not "crucial" as it once was.
Butch Jones is the damn man that is all

Why move our second best receiver to CB? 1) that would make the WR position a bigger question mark and 2) it would potentially kill his development to force him to learn how to play CB at a high level. If the move was going to happen it would have by now
Hardly think he's established as our "second best receiver". It's all potential and he has a heap...at both positions, but his best body of work in high school was as a prototype CB. Agree with growing majority that ship has most likely sailed but doesn't stop one from wishing differently. Will have to be satisfied with the apparent (hopefully mutual) decision.
Question for you guys. Last year we were hyped up to be SEC champs but had a poor recruiting period in the spring and summer.
This year, coming off pretty a disappointing season, we are recruiting at a higher level in the spring and summer. Why?
It's Jauan and then Byrd. Someone else could step up but those are the two that we saw last season that proved they can play.Hardly think he's established as our "second best receiver".
