That orange and white flag is on cranes all over the country. Don't think it has anything to do with Tennessee. I've seen it in almost every state I visited when I traveled for work. Been in every state except Alaska. Someone in construction could tell us what the flag means. I'm guessing safety.

No you're mistaken it means GBMFO

It's for pilots. Letting them know of a higher than usual object.

Hell yes. I could see Jones playing a lot of special teams, maybe even the starting punt returner. I expect Jordan Murphy to contribute at WR, this year. Murphy could even be UTs number 2 WR by the bowl game, imo

I won't rule it out, but I like the freshmen we brought in last year (Byrd, Williams, Callaway, Johnson). I think we will be good at that position.

I encourage you to re read my post and make a second effort at understanding my logic. In case you need cliff notes:

All I'm saying is that we've seen too many times when our guy simply couldn't block his guy. At the end of the day, play in the trenches is fundamentally about beating your man. And we haven't been up to snuff in "our guy beating their guy" department in pass protection over the past few seasons.

Blame protections all you want, but there have been too many times over the past 2 seasons where we've had 5-6 guys who couldn't hold up against a 4 man rush. Injuries have likely exacerbated the problem and Dobbs not calling the right protections may have as well. However, there's no protection that can account for a DL simply blowing by his man.

:eek:lol: I'll take the side of an actual OL starter and former NFL QB over you.

This goes without saying, but if Butch can just pull it together and sweep the SEC East then I think recruiting will really take off. Butch made off-season moves to replace the poor strength and conditioning, secondary play, and D-Line play. I just hope that they were the right coaches. If we can just make it to the SEC championship with minimal injuries then maybe we could give Bama a run for their money. I am excited for the season and I am excited to see a big arm at quarterback.

If we would've done that last year like we were supposed to, we would be coming off a top 5 class and we would be hyped up again this year

They were the right coaches. I'm sure of it

I say this knowing that maybe I'm wrong...but, I don't think Strip was as much as a problem as injuries...JMO, TIFWIW,. I like/liked Strip and am glad that he is still here. Do I think Hoke is an upgrade? Personal opinion? Probably. Do I know that for a fact? No, not yet. Recruiting.....maybe.

Like I said though. JMO.

We all know that, but last year is over and now Butch probably only has this one year to impress.

I have never been impressed with the D-Line play under Butch Jones. Having #9 helped out immensely and having #50 on the other side helped too. However, it just seems like our defensive line has a hard time actually tackling people in the backfield.

While I want to disagree with you on the play of the defensive line...i'm not sure that I actually can. I think (and of course it's just my opinion) that the D-line play has been hampered. Danny O was never going to be all world, but IMO was still better than a lot of teams had. K-Mac was suppose to be the second coming (and still may be)...but Tuttle, who was at the time an also ran, ends up being better (until injury). I still have trouble believing that neither of these two can be 1st-2nd round draft choices. From my perspective (0nce again, could be wrong), the D-line has been more a victim of circumstance more than anything.

Is Hoke an upgrade? Probably (and I hope he is), but I'm just not sure how much.

Here's to hoping that I'm right and you're wrong here.
