What's in the Senate health care bill?

Dang, McDad. He's got you pegged as a completely crude person.

I thought you more refined. But I guess you're a bit more slippery than I suspected.

Only my sugar is refined. Armchair would know that if he would let me kiss him when we snuggle.

Maybe the surgeon's wife needed a new Suburban, or he needed a new BMW?

Maybe the surgeon has a 92% overhead he is obligated to cover before he sees the first dime of "grocery money".

Maybe the surgeon makes as much as possible in 10 months so he can spend 2 months on medical mission service to third world patients (the actual poor; not the American version of poor).

Maybe the surgeon is the top 10 in the nation for the procedure in question and demand for his service has set his fees.

Maybe his billing manager discovered the "usual and customary" charge for a 99213 E&M code is $800 and set his fee at that rate.

Maybe the surgeon didnt like armchair's attitude and charged full fee rather than his normal discount.

Mabe armchair should call in advance and inquire what the fees are before going in ignorant and making an ass of himself.

The Bill will be right out of the the GOP playbook - tax cuts for corporations and the wealthiest Americans. Meanwhile, everybody else will get screwed, it's the GOP way!

We're coming to get your Obama IPhone and taking your EBT cards. No more free beer and cigs for you.

Why am I not surprised? Like an aimless sheep, you do as you're told and endorse failed economic theories because, well, it's your party. Blind faith is not a virtue.

How dare you insult me like that. I'm not a Democrat!

Just complete garbage. Those rates are state approved and have to be thoroughly justified and supported with loss data.

I alluded to this month's ago with CWV in another thread.

Can you explain this to the board in layman's terms?

When you realize that both parties in all aspects, avenues, and ways and means are exactly the same in their corruption and self serving attitudes, then, maybe, you will begin to see that the entire collection of "politicians" as a whole don't care about you or anyone else.

Why is this so hard to understand, BOTH parties are the same, they just package their crap in different colored and labeled boxes they hope their constituency continues to buy, so they can continue having a job.

This is the problem, and will continue to be the problem. Keep your loyalty and hopes up for those elected pos, I'm sure they are going to come through for you.......

Two very common misperceptions about politicians.

We have the best politicians money can buy. Wrong. They do cost us a lot - exorbitant to be honest, but they are a long way from the best category - generally intellectually and particularly morally inferior to just about anyone you could find passed out in a gutter - probably the lying lawyer in most of them.

You can tell a politician is lying if his/her lips are moving. Also incorrect. They've evolved and no longer have to move their lips to lie.

from someone I presume is a crude person. It is the government's responsibility to look out for "the general welfare"---that is explicitly stated in the constitution. Without taxes and government we'd have the same sort of instability and chaos one sees in developing countries with weak tax systems and a lot of corruption. We have enough corruption of our own. You don't like "government" but are happy that corrupt politicians stiff you (and everybody else) to benefit already massively wealthy corporations? You're OK having your pocket picked by big corporations, because they're not "the government"? I don't mind paying taxes to live in a stable country. Our health care system should either be totally privatized and thus have real competition or it should be nationalized. Ask any older person you know if they'd like to get rid of Medicare. Our health care system is a joke. I went to have a consult with a surgeon for what will be minor surgery. Fifteen minute conversation. Got a bill for $800.. When I called the doctor's office to inquire about the astronomical bill, the administrative person tried to blame the price on the insurance company--saying that the insurance company sets the price. That is total nonsense--a lie.
So? Do you have any idea how much it costs to buy and keep up a million dollar house, and send your kids to private schools and then college? Don't even bring up how much it costs to support a doctor's wife. How else is the poor guy supposed to afford all that?

So Liberals, single payer will drive us bankrupt unless we take care of the elderly, disabled , or the obese. Who do we kill off first?

Republicans can't afford any defection on the vote. There are already 3 Republican senators who are leaning no and Rand Paul is a solid no.

all the other countries with single payer systems are managing, are they not?

As for obesity--that's a problem mostly caused by the private sector making and selling really bad processed food. Everybody LOVED to drink Coke and Pepsi--and now we've had a two-generation or longer epidemic of diabetes. Check the sugar content in the food you buy--it is in practically everything, and often in LARGE quantities. I love my freedom to become obese and then a drain on our health-care system! Conservatives have fought against healthy lunches for kids in school--and against moves to ban soft drinking vending machines from schools. The South is especially bad when it comes to obesity. I fully expect Trump, at some point, to come out and say how much he loves the sugar in his food. That would be completely in line with every other move he has made.

Personal responsibility must've been outlawed decades ago.

Are they? Great, timely healthcare for all? California alone has claimed universal healthcare will cost 400b annually. That's the low estimate. How do we pay for all of this? Which countries are you talking about and what are their demographics?

You'll need to expound on these "healthy" lunches the evil conservatives don't want.
