I just think it's funny that Kiffin gets remembered for his close losses here and said it was a good sign.. Butch gets vilified for close losses and the wins are shot down as no good. Reading some of these makes you think that some aren't gonna like our coach no matter what.
As for the article,it's fine he is saying that I guess but it's no biggie to me. It is what it is,off-season stuff.
Close losses in your first year as head coach with a losing team the season prior could be seen as a good sign. Butch, on the other hand, has had his share of inexplicable losses in his 4th season at Tennessee. The go-to excuse has been but..but..muh injuries. Sure injuries played a factor in losses, but even with those injuries, there was more talent and experience on the field vs the likes of USCe and Vandy. I guess to me, that may be a slight difference between praising moral victories in Kiffin's first year and with a starved fan base, and vilifying Jones after losing games we all know he shouldn't.
