Cooperation went on the window with Bush 41. When Bush compromised with democrats in allowing a tax raise which he pledged he wouldn't, the dems turned on him and used it against him in the next election. The age of compromising between the parties end then.

Nope, you forget Clinton. He learned he had to reach across the aisle and compromise due to the makeup of Congress after 94. It worked too. Clinton got some things done he wanted, Congress got some things done they wanted. Everyone was fairly happy in the end.

Compromise ended in 2006 when Congress changed hands.

Maybe. I think Bill and congress was just riding the wave of the tech explosion. Everybody was happy then.

Agreed.

It's rather pointless, or at least pretty wastefull, to be POTUS and not be able to get your agenda accomplished.

There is some merit in not passing anything destructive but that is losing policy in the long run. If you can repeal destructive policies, it will generally make it more difficult to overturn such policies by future POTUS/Congress.

You just can't throw the WH janitor or someone off the street in to do that big important job. Can't you loony liberals have a little patience for the right person to be announced. Besides, it doesn't matter who he picks you liberal morons will bash that pick too regardless w/hateful venom.
