Josh Dobbs rarely does bad. Its typically Butch Jones incompetence that costs us games. Against Alabama he just wasn't able to overcome the lack of help around him and the lack of competent coaching.
There are only so many times you can expect Dobbs to pull a rabbit out of his hat. Against Alabama in 2015 he wasn't able to. Alabama 2016 was just not a fair game to judge Josh because everyone else on the team got hurt. That was a mismatch in every sense of the word.
I never said he would rush for 100 yards every game. All I said is he would make 300/100 games look more common. There have only been 2 300-yard passing and 100-yard rushing games in NFL history. I've predicted Josh can equal that in his first 16 starts in the NFL. He doesn't need to rush for 100 yards every game. He just needs to do it once in a while.
Argue with Jon Gruden. He said he never saw a performance at Tennessee like what Josh Dobbs did in the Swamp that year against Florida.
It was an epic individual performance. Josh put the team on his back and defeated a NFL caliber defense by himself before Butch Jones chocked it away by snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.
Here is my review of the 2017 NFL Draft.

So many examples as to how Facebook has made slongs like this guy feel he and his opinions are remotely relevant to anyone's life except his own. I hate Facebook and dobbs for heisman is that guy at work that talks a lot but no one cares.
When you label about 100 guys as "Pro Bowl potential", it becomes clear A) you don't know what you're doing and/or B) you're just going to keep using weasel phrases like that to CYA so that you can claim you "called it" when a few of them do make the Pro Bowl.
Only because of Butch Jones terrible playcalling that snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.
The Florida loss in 2015 is 100% the fault of Butch Jones.

100% is a tad much, though his clock management and playcalling at the end were both dreadful.
That doesn't mean that Dobbs played anywhere close to a good game. He didn't.
Josh Dobbs played about as good as was humanely possible that game given the circumstances. He only missed one throw (the one down the sideline to Josh Smith) that was a hard throw but he still should have made it cause it was big play. Other than that, he suffered from drops, offensive line breakdowns, and lack of separation by his receivers.
That's what makes the performance so amazing. A drop back passer would have had no chance in that game. The Tennessee offensive line was getting punked by Florida's d-line on every snap. Just go back and watch the first few pass attempts and how Dobbs was nearly decapitated by the Florida pass rush. Tennessee wisely gave up on the passing game early when they realized that the offensive line had no chance in blocking the Florida pass rush. Florida's DBs were also playing bump n run so there was no chance for the quick short passing game. The only way Tennessee could move that ball that game was through the read option QB run game cause it was the only way to slow the Florida pass rush.
And that is exactly what Dobbs did. He won the game against Florida with his legs. And if not him, it was Jalen Hurd getting the handoff cause the entire defense was focused on Josh. Go back and watch the tape. This was BY FAR the best performance of Josh Dobbs career at Tennessee. Put any other QB behind that line in that game against that defense and they look like Peterman in the Swamp in 2013.
