I'd rather be 8-4 in the SEC than be in one of the other inferior conferences

I'd say they will follow the money. Ga Tech one of the sec founding teams left over 50 years ago. I'd say that was a huge mistake.

For the most part the grass would not be greener on the other side of the fence. As is said, we are the SEC. (along with others) Case in point in favor of SEC. Ga. Tech, when they were in the SEC the were known nationally ( or at least the part that counts) now look at them, just another school somewhere that other members don't seem to give a da-- they are there, nor does the sporting news coverers seem to care unless they are playing the big boys in the ACC.

Though I agree, I feel Tennessee could have averaged 2 to 3 more wins per season in the past 10 years had they been in the Big 10 or ACC.

The big duck on the little pond syndrome. Not for me. If that's what you want join the Big South or something. Same difference as far as I'm concerned.

According to the recruiting article below, we would fare better in a different conference.

What say ye VN experts if we were in the:
PAC-12
ACC
BIG 10
Or one of the other major conferences. Would we be playing second fiddle only to OSU, Clemson and/or maybe Fla St, Okla or would would we still be middle of the pack in those conferences?

I'll hang up and listen to your response(s).

Oh Hell no! UT is a charter member.

I can see the logic of UT being in the Pac-12. There are a surprising number of Vol supporters in LA, many from SC. :)

I honestly don't think I would love college football like I did if Tennessee played in any other conference. I would rather be 8-4 against the best teams than 10-2 against lesser competition. Granted I would rather be 12-0 against the sec

Yes indeed Tennessee and bama made the SEC and we Tennessee put the SEC on the map in the 30's and 40's not big bad bama.:clapping:

We are one of the programs that made the SEC what it has become today. We will never leave.

We are the SEC

Hell yeah.... Don't understand why some think we should move conferences. Let's kick the crap out of everyone this year and stop this crap!!!!

Tennessee in the Pac 12 no way the only way we will every leave the SEC is when there will be 4 SUPER CONFERENCE'S then we still will be in the SOUTH we are headed for a NORTH SOUTH EAST WEST 4 SUPER CONFERENCES WITH 16 TO 20 IN EACH CONFERENCE all it will take is a Net work throwing Money at the NCAA and it is only a matter of time.:thud:

Pac-12 History (14-15-4)
ACC History (109-64-7)
Big 10 History (21-11)
Big 12 History (8-8)

I'll take the ACC and Big 10 any week!

Didn't think I needed both the blue font and the big grin. Pac-12 schools are 2000 miles from Knoxville.

None of the Big 6 are leaving the SEC. It's our conference and we'll be the last to fly the flag.

If we weren't in the SEC that's all this board would talk about. How, oh how can we get in the SEC??? If ONLY we could get in the SEC? I live in western Tennessee and it's a sad, pathetic thing to hear all the Memphis fans cry, beg, pray etc constantly about getting in a power 5 conference...And I don't say that to demean them...although they have miles to go in many areas to be attractive to a Power 5 conference it still dominates their thoughts..,that's where we'd be if not in the SEC!!!!

Until Saban retires and the other programs settle with Butch Jones type coaches and we get better coaching, I just don't see us back at the level we were in the late 80's through the 90's.
