I'm pretty sure we just got insulted.

Are you honestly pretending to know what kind of marriages Butch and Beliema have with their respective wives? Is this sarcasm? If not, I think it's safe to say you don't know what the crap you're talking about.

I'm disputing the notion that Bielema has a better wife than Butch simply because she has hot bikini pics posted on the internet. It's wife profiling.

Interesting that post #3 on the first page didn't trigger you. It's okay to say that Bielema has a better wife and it's not okay to suggest that Butch might in fact have a great one?

Not really. They matched our best win. And fell on their a$$ in a few no different than UT did.

You re pitching recruiting rankings like they made some huge difference in where both ended up.

There is not much difference. Maybe the RF will lift your spirits.

If I had a silly argument, I would tap out as well. I see you ignored the draft comment. Good decision on your end. And my pitch of recruiting rankings had nothing to do with where they ended up and more about the state of the respective programs. And my spirits don't hinge on the ramblings of a simpleton such as yourself that can't step outside of your linear basic method of comparing the 2 programs.

Contradicting yourself again. If we are beating them in recruiting and sending more guys to the NFL then why are they comparable to us in other ways? Sounds like Beliema is doing more with less and Jones is doing less with more.

I think it's more to do with your endless struggle of being able to read. I explained in depth some of the issues Tennessee dealt with the last 2 years while you simple Sams want to ignore that they exist.

I think the problem is that at any given time over the past three years you can point to any number of " positive " things going on in and around our program, yet when it's time to tally up results.... we find ourselves very comparable to a team like Arkansas.

Hence the current discussion.

The truth cuts deep at times. Some see it for what it is. Others get insulted. At least we both know where we are.

we lost to Vandy with a trip to the Sugar Bowl on the line. Not just lost but was easily beaten.

Do you guys even watch the games or know what you are even watching? I'm not defending the loss and was very critical of Butch. But the game was in doubt until the 4 minute mark in the 4th quarter. Don't know where you are getting the 'easily beaten' nonsense.

I never mentioned it, but Tennessee beat the same Va Tech team that Arkansas lost to as well.

The sad part is that you think you are standing in a spot that you really aren't standing in. Meaning you're lost and probably should look for directions. The gamer board or the pub would be a good start for you.

It sucks, but you can't run from it.

Both teams have some good wins, both have some bad Ls.

Nobody else in College football is paying much notice because neither have put their stamp on anything. Arkansas has been pretty mediocre in this league since they joined it, and being compared to them obviously ruffles feathers. UT has an easier path to getting back on the map, but have yet to take the next step. Arkansas nor anyone else in the West is going anywhere with Saban still manning his post.

Until one of them makes a move in either directiin, the comparison is valid regardless of pride.

Gamer board or Pub?

Give me a breakdown. It appears I am not affiliated enough to understand those.

Are you calling your excuse that we had too many injuries because of our lacking a legit strength coach an "in depth explanation"? Lolol

Yeah i don't like it either. But 6-8 wins a year puts you in that discussion.

I find it interesting that when talking about tn, even for the supposedly unbiased, there's more emphasis placed on the shortcomings than the perception some think exists, outside of Knoxville.

At the end of the day it doesn't matter, all that matters is what's going on in the complex over there.

Yep. And what that does or doesn't do to change those numbers.

I call it the difference between actually understanding a major college football program and not understanding one. Guess which side of the fence you are currently on.

Not really sure why anyone cares about this...

But the whipped us head to head.

Why does anyone care about any of the topics in the football forum? It's the offseason and there's a limited amount of information to discuss.

So do you think Pittsburgh is a better program than Clemson? They beat them head to head last year.

This from the ESPN chat yesterday. Who is getting insulted by being called the other's Doppelganger? Us or Arkansas:

Schlabach: Forget the SEC. Can Tennessee defend its title as Champions of Life (64)? Or just reclaim the state championship from Vanderbilt (65)?

McGee: Ouch. I seriously can't wait to see if Tennessee can finally get over the hump (66). The Vols haven't been to the SEC championship game since 2007! And keep an eye on their SEC West doppelganger (67). Arkansas is entering its fifth year with Bret Bielema. I don't think his job's in imminent danger, but it's time to pair some signature wins with his signature personality.

If you are taking this as an insult, you really need to get a life.

Fact is.. if we don't win the east, we are the middle of the pack. That's just the way it is. Cause Fla, Ga, and UT always are so close in record every year. Mizzou was on top for a few years, now they're at the bottom. So if we can't beat Fla, GA plus USCe, you can't deny it.... hello middle of the pack, and we still have to go to Fayetteville for the return match...
