I think that when Herbstreit is doing the game that it has a certain appeal to it because it is a marquee game.

I don't like the guy either, but he is one of the few people they have that actually drive ratings. I don't watch him but that's why they are paying him.

But he drives his points home with a sledgehammer. Guys like him may boost rating for awhile, but wears on regular listeners nerves. One controversy involving him and he will be gone faster than Jimmy the Greek. That is why every sports network has a data base of people working in smaller market radio and TV stations. He ticks off the wrong exec, and Smith might not be able to maintain a YouTube following.
