As an artist myself, I applaud her for being apart of the lore of game days. It was pretty cool for her to do that. Hopefully she cemented a tradition for other artists to continue.

She said she'll try to keep painting the rock occasionally. But if she's going to medical school she may not have any time for that.

She's so awesome that UT should NOT let her get away.

Give her free tuition, free paint and materials and time to keep the rock painted.

Then hire her as a Doctor and then still keep her painting the rock.

Payton has become a serious part of Tennessee history and Tradition and UT can easily afford to keep her in K Town and painting our rock for many years to come.

Somebody needs to start a petition to do whatever it takes to keep a great VFL with serious talent on the hill.

Anyone that attempts to replace her has huge shoes to try to fill.

Just like all the rock artists in the past, somebody will replace her.

Yeah, PMM came in and set a new standard for the rock. Before it was just graffiti. The best I ever saw before her was somebody painted the yellow smiley on it back in the 70s. It lasted maybe 3 days before it returned to the usual crap. Payton made checking out the rock a real tradition.

I hope the graffiti folks are satisfied with the back of the rock. Leave the front to someone like Payton.

I think the fact that Payton is getting so much publicity, will lead the next person who takes over to go above and beyond as well. People will always remember Payton, the next person will be someone talented wanting the same recognition.
