He's still a good recruiter. He did the best job in last year's class out of all the staff members. He was big with Butler, Gray, Ignont and Reid. Those are 3 of your 5-6 highest rated recruits in last year's class. I think the Welton/Shoop factor may have caused a change in LB philosophy. More long-term reach/high ceiling type guys than instant impact types. I can't really come up with any other reason for some of the early marginal takes at that spot. Fortunately, I think they wised up a little bit by bouncing a couple LB commits late in the cycle. I still see some of the same though with how they are recruiting LB's this cycle.
