Kiper/McShay: Barnett to Cowboys

There's no way in heck Barnett falls that low. I've seen him as high as 2. No way he falls that far, and I don't see the Cowboys jumping up to get him, especially with so many talented DL on the board. No doubt the Cowboys need help at the Defensive line, defense being their weak spot but Marinelli did a heck of a job with what he had.

I think Barnett will go anywhere from 9-15th. Bengals, Saints, and Colts are most likely. I think the Saints are most likely destination. I really really wish the Titans would pick him up. I mean, adding a hometown boy couldn't be bad for PR right? But most mocks have them taking a DB at that point or a DT.

I saw a draft that put Kamara to the Eagles (Which would make me vomit), and Sutton to the Cardinals (which is my second favorite team). Dobbs was projected to the Lions, which I think is crazy.

I'd love to see the Titans grab Barnett and Dobbs, because I think Dobbs and Mariota would go well together, and the Titans need a backup something terrible. I'd love to see Sutton go to the Cardinals and play opposite of Peterson. I'd love to see Kamara go to the Vikings or Panthers. I feel like he would really thrive there.

I'm just happy to have players drafted and being drafted in high rounds. If Sutton hadn't of gotten hurt, and same for JRM, we could have had multiple picks go in the first three rounds. Still not sure we won't.

This mock draft also had only one QB, Trubisky, drafted in the first round. There is not a single first round quality QB in this draft class, but I am guessing 2-3 will be drafted in the first round. Some teams are simply desperate and have poor scouting departments.

Glad we are represented by Barnett, JRM, AK, Dobbs, and Sutton in this draft.

Caleb Brantley - DL - Gators
According to a police report obtained by Florida Times-Union correspondent Patrick Pinak, Florida DT Caleb Brantley faces a misdemeanor battery charge for allegedly punching a woman in the face and knocking her unconscious.
The incident is believed to have occurred on April 13. Per the report, the victim pushed Brantley after he made "crude comments." Brantley allegedly responded by punching the woman in the face with a closed fist, knocking her unconscious and dislodging a tooth. The police report considered that action retaliation, not self-defense. Previously considered a Round 3 pick -- with a ceiling of Round 2 -- Brantley's stock will freefall if this report proves to be true. "Great chance he goes undrafted with this charge coming so close to the draft," Bleacher Report's Matt Miller tweeted. "Teams will be scrambling for info."

Ravens go back to a 4-3?

No, the Ravens are still a 3-4, however, they use Suggs like a DE, and he's the same size and weight as Derek Barnett. Plus he's 34 and Elvis Dumervil was released this offseason. So I do believe if he makes it to 16, the Ravens will draft him, that is if they don't move up to get him. Unless he goes in the top 10. The Ravens usually don't move up too much as they live by the line: "Best player available when it's our turn no matter our needs." Drives me crazy sometimes.

Ozzie Newsome is one of the best in the business, which I credit to him starting as a lowly scout and building himself up through the organization. If Barnett was a second or third rounder, I could see it. Suggs was 240ish when he was drafted...perfect 3-4 LB area. They definitely won't move up to get him and even if he dropped they'd pick a better scheme fit imo.

Yeah, I'm just wishin. All the talk up here on the radio is of them taking an offensive player in the first round. But who knows, it's all talk until the draft happens.

You have a few other needs...as most teams do. How's your OL aging?

I just hope Barnett goes to a D that he can thrive in. I don't think Dallas is that D.

I feel like Cowboys fans are the same people who were Nebraska fans in the 90's, Miami fans in the early 2000's, Florida Fans in the mid to late 2000's and now they like Florida State.

1st String OL should be great, it's depth that has been concern for us the past few years, and it showed last year when Flacco consistantly had 1.2 seconds to throw the freakin ball. If someone goes down, we don't have quality backups. We do have a couple that have been in the system for a year or two now, so hopefully, that will transfer into being able have our vets take some snaps off. Flacco must have a good OL and running game. He's a great QB if that happens, like in 2012, he's a terrible QB if it doesn't happen. He doesn't have the power like Big Ben to get away from people. And as much as I can't stand the Steelers, I do respect them as a team and Ben's abilities at the position.

Love Mike Tomlin...traditionally hate the Steelers but they do it right. Since Chuck Noll was let go, they've had two coaches...so THREE since the 60's. As a Bears fan, I have to bow to that type of organization.
