Predict Where They Go

I posted this in the NFL forum but the talk all over Ohio today is that the Browns want Trabisky, and they have wanted him since the start, so they feel they will have to take him 1 over all to get him if they want him. That leaves them trying to make a move up for a pass rusher. They will be trying to trade up for S Thomas, but if he doesn't come their way Barnett will be a Brown. If not Cinci will grab him.
If they would move up to take the 2nd best player in the draft, they certainly could move up to take Trubisky. I don't think there is any scenario out there that has Cleveland taking anyone but Garrett with the 1st overall.....unless they trade down and whoever they trade with will take Garrett.

What happened to your rock solid guarantee that Dobbs was going to the Chargers at #38?

It looks like he won't be available at 38 for them anymore. If the buzz that is coming out right now is true, Dobbs could go in the late 1st round. The most likely destination being the Steelers at 30.

They feel like they don't have a choice and that's what is fueling this. Trubisky is a home town hero who grew up in the area and wants to return to make the Browns competitive. He's the QB they have their eyes on, but they feel like he won't be there at 12.

Agreed. If they aren't going to take Garrett, then they'd be stupid to do anything other than trade the 1st pick.

Agreed and that's what I've been preaching for weeks and even months on social media, But all that's done is label me an outcast :). The dawg pound is letting the Browns know they are very pissed off and want Garrett no matter what. I say, there is NO number in this draft. You wont find your players until later. I think the draft doesn't even start until pick two. I say trade the number one and get another couple of first rounders, maybe even a next year pick and stock the pantry. Seems like smart ball to me. I'm being outcasted for that opinion though. Personal opinion is Garrett will flop like a fish out of water in cleveland.

Would make 0 sense to take Trubisky with the #1 overall, even if that is the Browns guy. You are basically trading the 1st overall and getting nothing in return other than a QB you really could have taken 7 spots lower. (I don't think the Jets or 49ers take Trubisky). 49ers have "shown interest" recently, just to exponentially increase the value of their #2 for teams wanting to trade up to get him.

I hope the Titans have been letting the Browns know that the #5 is available.

Well reports all day have been that they were on the phones working their options. These guys LOVE to play the draft game and really... ANYTHING could happen. Nobody knows.

All I can say is if the Browns don't just fill out the card and take Garrett, the melt down in Browns country will dwarf the Dooley debacle.

Because unless they get an offer that they couldn't possibly refuse, missing out on a player like Garrett would make no sense. Now if they piece a good deal to deal away the 1st and pick up Trubisky anywhere later than the 5th pick, then it makes sense.

You need to get back on your meds.

NFL Draft Analysts wouldn't be saying stuff like this if there wasn't some fire to the smoke of Dobbs being a late 1st rounder.

Louis Riddick saying Dobbs is his top rated QB in this class. Todd McShay saying Dobbs is a 1st rounder. And then you factor in the fact that players picked in the 1st round have that 5th year option which is huge.

I could definitely see a team interested in drafting Josh in the early 2nd round just trading up into the back end of the 1st round and taking him so they could have him under contract for 5 years instead of 4.

Within 5 years Dobbs will be using his degree.

as a redskins fan, i would love to see DEREK BARNETT fall to pick 17 but he looks like a top 10 selection.

One flaw in your argument. Riddick never said that.

Hopefully you're being sarcastic

Not in the least. Dude has been a scout for years. He left Philly during the Kelly regime change, and I understand taking a TV gig rather than going back into scouting. But he's thrown his name into the hat for GM jobs over the past 3 or 4 years and has yet to land one of them. There's a reason.
