Some redneck giving a death threat to an underachieving coach's wife isn't groundbreaking news.

Give up this poor Cuonzo routine. The guy was made a millionaire because mike Hamilton was dumb enough to hire him to do a job he wasn't ready for.

Its not a poor Cuonzo act. If someone post and act like he just left and made up a bunch of stuff its wrong. I will point out the very real threats and abuse they endured. I know I would not be pleased if my family got death threats at their workplaces. I guess that wouldn't bother ya'll though. :thud:

You see it would bother me. If those things happened in front of me I would have physically came to CCM defense. There is no place for stuff like that.

I just believe isolated incidents doesn't make an entire fanbase deserve the response that thin skin man gave.

What response, leaving?

There is a false narrative he went around and bashed UT. He did not say one word publicly disparaging UT. Some did write stories on the subject. They were not from Martin though. Others knew of the abuse and talked about it. Its not his fault people heard about all the bs some fans did and reported it. There is not one interview or quote from Martin talking bad about UT.

Martin did an interview a year after he left talking about UT and crying racism. Give me a freaking break.

Something happened with Stokes on the visit. On vq they mentioned it soon after his visit ended and said something happened and we would not be getting him. Idk if he came off as a me person, he got into trouble, or if he asked for money. It was confirmed that he turned them off though.

Did Doug Dickey, Bill Battle, Johnny Majors, Phil Fulmer and/or their family ever receive death threats? (I intentionally left off Dooley & Kiffin)

I am in no way condoning this, but there are Vols fans that are IDIOTS!!!! (many on this forum)

How many of you would deal with it if you were making "that kind of money?"..... Yes it would (& should) be VERY tough to deal with. I will ascertain they shouldn't have to.

How many coaches across the nation have to deal with FANatics? Yes, there are idiots all across this land.

Being a head coach at the college level is a horrible job, that usually pays well.

If you are an idiot, raise your hand.

When reading the article he skimmed over that part screamingl la la la la la la la I can't hear you or see what you are saying" until he got to more Martin is a superhero part.

Martin is more overrated than people said Kiffin was

I can only think of a few coaches that deserve death threats, and Zo isn't one of them. But c'mon, Zo sucked.

Also he overachieved each year according to preseason rankings. That is a fact that can not be argued with. He also lead us to our second best finish in a year we weren't ranked preseason. Yea that sure warranted the harassment he and his family received.

I won't discuss this in the rf anymore though. Its obvious most of you have no idea how college basketball seasons work.

I never saw it. When he left I stopped following him and what he said once the next season started. I also said when he left he said nothing bad. If he was asked over a year later and answered truthfully about being harassed I still don't think that counts as him going around bashing UT. Those incidents happened. Should he lie and act like they didn't if someone ask him over a years later? I never saw him bashing UT when he left. If there is evidence to the contrary I will apologize and admit my mistake.

It was the article done where he was quoted that really turned most of us off with him for good. It was well after he left but I don't recall when exactly. If he hadn't said those things I would have come full circle on him by now. In fact I think he is going to do damn well at Mizzu and is a great hire.
