Just realized a weird thing. If Medley hits 20 FG this year (he had 21 and 20 his fresh and soph years) he will break the UT alltime record. Pretty crazy to think that he of all people might hold that record when its all said and done.

He's been a Clemson lean awhile according to Tiger fans. They're going to land 5 star Zamir White too. Those two with Lawrence is 3 of the top 10 on Rivals. Bastards.

Aside from maybe some DB's, I doubt Muschamp is ever able to get any in state recruits that Dabo really wants.

Yeah, you can't let a CFB coach go until his contract expires and just let him go. But if you're comparing Butch in December 2017 coming off an 8-4 season to Serrano as a lame duck whose contract expires in a few months, then you're either being disengenuous or you don't have enough fingers and toes to count past two.

Butch will still have 3 years left on his contract after this season. That's long enough left to stick with the status quo and give him a make or break year in 2018.

Damages recruiting too much. Extend him or fire him. That's our decisions imo.

The aww shucks, mega Christian act Dabo puts on really works on recruits. Not to mention they win games

Nothing wins like...
1a. Winning
1b. Putting players into the league

As much as it pains me to say it, Dabo has been able to do both pretty well.

I'm pumped about this season. I know it's spring, but it sounds like we're getting mostly good news on the coaching hires and player development.

Just need KMack and Tuttle to get healthy ASAP, Picou to continue coming on strong, and Alexis Johnson to be a factor. The news on him hasn't been great so far during spring camp. Sounds like he's improving but isn't really impressing that much.

And of course, Kongbo/Phillips/Taylor need to step up big time at DE, but it sounds like Kongbo and Taylor have really bought in and embraced their roles. Just hope Phillips can get and stay healthy heading into fall camp.

And he'll accomplish that feat without ever having hit one from 40+.

They are but let's wait to crown him the next Saban until he wins consistently without Watson. He also lost his DL coach. If NC State had a kicker they might not have even made the playoffs last year.

6 straight 10+ wins seasons and a 89-28 record isn't winning consistently?

I am talking about the buyout itself. Not talking about "what if some team is dumb enough to pay him millions after we fire him" scenarios.

Well, I guess we should be thankful that you quit beating the dead horse for a while. Back at it with a renewed purpose.
Great, just great.

I have an idea. Let's discuss the possibilities of CBJ getting fired after this year and how much we would have to pay for his buyout....... Haven't had that conversation in a while.......

Sarcasm to you...

Serious request for endless discussion from those already doing it.

Shame on you

If we had a kicker Sabah wouldn't have won his first Natty....

Plus they were winning big before Watson. What do you think made him commit?

If auburn can be good on defense after losing some guys they will be legit threat in West. Stidham throwing lasers on point.

Hey it isn't my fault everybody doesn't get sarcasm...... is it?

Y'all think Tee Martin gets a look from Currie if there's a change to be made in 2018 and Tee is still OC at USC? He'll probably be a hot name by then. First-time HC is always risky, but if it's between him and a bunch of Butch Jones-caliber guys with decent mid-major resumes, I wouldn't mind seeing us roll the dice. I think he would recruit really well here.

Pls no.

So bowl games don't count? Not sure how that's fair when attempting to judge someone by leaving out real wins vs solid teams

Because I'm not talking about bowl games cause we don't know our opponent. I'm talking regular season as were the guys on the radio were when I brought it to the board.

Poster on VQ who shared a Saturday practice report shared another today...

Mostly through the offense's eyes again today. Sorry guys. A ton of team work today though. Some notes from the coaching clinic this weekend as well. Enjoy.

QD running with 1st team to begin

Latrell 1st slot / TByrd 2nd - also played in backfield some

Jakob 2nd Y

Honestly don't know who 2nd group of X and Z are - walkons I'm assuming

Still quite a bit of under center work - but situational, coming out of endzone, short yardage

Trey Smith talk of camp - everyone impressed

Not sure a better asset as been brought into Tennessee football than Rock G. Butch admitted he challenged his beliefs but seems to be hands off.

Jennings, JK, and Sherion lead the nation in energy - fun watching their approach to practice

JJ is a dog and true 1 WR / Caught a great 50/50 deep ball Thursday

Butch giving Master Teague some special attention

John Kelly coached at least one RB period. CRG was coaching Punt Return during this time but still pretty cool

Gaulden and TKJr weren't dressed

Callaway with a drop on a fin route / jumped right back to front of line to get another rep (caught it)

Honestly not familiar with who our RBs are behind Kelly. Appeared to all be walk one

Tuttle in a knee brace. No major limp

Cam & JRM @ practice (have been at all 3 practices I've attended. Not a coincidence these guys were captains of last years team)

Baylen starting Nickel. Picou and AJ starting DTs

Kongbo with a sack on 3rd play of live team

4th play was in 2TE set from second half of last season

3rd and long Kongbo whipped Tatum / dormady with an athletic escape hit I think Kelly to convert

Drive ends with JJ catch on 4 verts. Toasted I believe Baylen

Sheriron running as QB2 wouldn't read much into this

Much more 2TE with 2's - by necessity I would imagine

2s drive ends with Sheriron UNCORKING a deep ball to TByrd - beautiful semi contested catch

Vickers and KMac not dressed

Kongbo has caused 6+ false starts in the 3 practices I've attended

JG ran 2nd drive with 1s

Trey Smith with a great protection check/pickup of an edge defender. Actually appeared to alert JG to it (this kid is 17 and helping QBs with protection checks - can't overstate how impressive this is - more on that later)

JG appeared to make some checks of his own

Darrell Taylor with a sack

Kongbo ends JG's drive with another sack

Field looks to be in great shape

McBride threw a tipped picked 6 to DJ Henderson to cap the team period

Osborne and Buchanan cross training at both Nickel and CB

Didn't see warrior at all today

Bituli is a specimen

TByrd 1st KR
Gillespie seems to have an increased role in special teams @Brent_Hubbs has he taken over ST duties? (May be Germans)

JJ with a 3rd down conversion on a comeback in situational team

Kongbo had to be helped off at the end of situational - I'll leave the reporting on this to Brent & Co.
This is one of the difficult/frustrating parts of coaching - Butch's practice physicality is questioned - now - Lots of live team and a great practice today but Kongbo goes down. Danged if you do, danged if you don't. /end rant

Kelly pops a 25 yd on just an IZ to begin red zone period. This kid is the leader of the team and a kid the team gravitates too. Really cool to see him step up.

Shannon Reid with about a 90 yard scoop and score to end the day. I'll say it again - Kids a player.

Finally,
Got to have lunch with Coach Strip Thursday
Coach Strip compared DB to Lamar Woodley but better work ethic.
Trey Smith missed practice last Saturday to attend his high school prom (perspective) / wide eyed emoji
