Hey man, just because they said it on the radio doesn't mean it's guaranteed to happen. How do they know. Let the season play out. Sheesh. That Florida team we dismantled last September was a rain out short of nine regular season wins.
I just can't wrap my head around 8-4 being considered best case. I expect 8-4. If he turns in 7 wins or less I want him fired. We can hire someone tomorrow that can win 7 or 8 a year.
For the last few years I've gotten blasted on here as a nega because I picked us to lose more games than most posters expected (I was right every time btw). This year it seems like the tables have turned. I see Bama as the only likely loss. UF, LSU, and UGA all seem like games that could go either way to me. I think 9-3 or 10-2 are the most likely outcomes.

Like I said from an objective point of view 8-4 is most likely the best case scenario specifically for this season just because we have to replace so much talent. Now if all the question marks on this team pan out then watch out because this team has a lot of talent. Just not much proven talent
Do you guys understand what "best case scenario" means? It means if EVERYTHING goes right, which includes the QB being lights out, OL being studs, Kelly going off, WR breaking out, Kongbo, Phillips and rest of DL staying healthy, Warren getting the secondary in order........ that's best case scenario and that is better than 8-4.
Well it's the offseason.
I just can't wrap my mind around 8 being the ceiling. This is year 5. I ain't trying to hear that. It may be a likely record or some may say it's a good season but it's not the ceiling. This ain't Kentucky.
I agree. 8-4 is NOT the ceiling this year, I don't care what some radio talking head says. They don't understand what best case means evidently
2015 had some rough ones.I just don't see where gameday has been that bad for him. I think some of the game plans and play calling was bad at times, but I didn't see a lot of blunders
I always liked Overstreet but he is dead to me nowOne of those was VFL Will Overstreert. I don't understand where he's coming from.
The other was John Pennington. He ALWAYS predicts mediocrity and then tells you that you should be happy with it. Usually finds a way to tell fans they are stupid, wrong and too demanding.
Anyone hear overstreet and weird beard Pennington on 990 talking best and worse case for Tennessee this fall?
I'm sorry but if 8-4 is the absolute best case then we should have fired Butch last December.
That time out was pretty bad. I remember thinking "you've got to be kidding me".2015 had some rough ones.
The timeout vs UF on 4th and short that gave them time to figure out a play instead of kicking a FG.
Not going for 2 after a score put us up 12 points.
That might be it but it feels like I'm forgetting more.

When I say game planning issues I mean how obvious it was during certain games that the game plan was to not run Dobbs.I think it's an excellent game planner. The last two years the only game that has gotten away from us was Bama this year.
He's made some questionable calls but he's also caught some terrible breaks.
He's not as bad on Saturdays as some want to believe.
One thing he really lost this past season was the overall team discipline and toughness that they showed in the first three seasons.

I'd understand the sentiment of this post if you were replying to someone saying that we need to fire Butch and bring in a National Championship caliber coach. Those types of coaches are super rare after all.
But winning 7-8 games every season here isn't a difficult task anymore. The program has been stabilized and the East is as weak as it's ever been.
Show me a coach who's won 7-8 games in whatever G5 or P5 program he's coaching the past 2-3 seasons and I'll show you a guy who can win 7-8 games per season here.
Of course if you're firing Butch to find a guy who can win 7-8 games a season, that makes little sense though. We know Butch can do that. No need to pay him $6-8 to take a hike if all you've got your sites set on is a guy who is no better.
Who ya gon git?
