Open up with a potential top 25 team in GT while trying to break in a new QB, play in the swamp, Georgia returns their entire team, play at bama, and late game against lsu. Four loses are pretty easy to find. If we go 8-4 this year then Butch hasn't done a good job, but it would still be a decent season for the circumstances
But that roster is sending plenty to the draft. Wait for it. . .
Like I said from an objective point of view 8-4 is most likely the best case scenario specifically for this season just because we have to replace so much talent. Now if all the question marks on this team pan out then watch out because this team has a lot of talent. Just not much proven talentThat Florida team we dismantled last September was a rain out short of nine regular season wins.
I just can't wrap my head around 8-4 being considered best case. I expect 8-4. If he turns in 7 wins or less I want him fired. We can hire someone tomorrow that can win 7 or 8 a year.

Best case is we stop giving away games and start taking a few unexpectedlyBut we were completely devoid of a senior class.
Also, of the guys getting drafted this spring, only Dobbs, Malone and Barnett played the entire season for us as starters last year.
My point is that if we can go 8-4 in 2015 while giving away two games then we can do better in 2017. Especially since that roster was filled with young talent just like this roster is.

Gotchya. It's frustrating. We went from media darlings to national laughing stock. It's a tough pill to swallow. I get the vibe we are on the Clemson trajectory. Remember Dabo and "clemsoning"? Get the vibe that butch is starting to figure this out. In addition, I believe JG is a special talent and could have the same impact Watson had on Clemson. Both were the top dual threat QB. Excited to see it play outYeah I know what you're saying. I really dislike flesh beard Pennington so this is kinda irking me.
No quarterback prospect benefited more from the predraft process than Tennessee's Joshua Dobbs.
When evaluating the position, a quarterback's in-season performance only tells part of the story. The position is special because so much of it is played above the shoulders.
Can the young man handle the pressure of being an NFL quarterback? What type of relationship is expected to develop between the player and the coaching staff? What type of work ethic does he bring? How does he grasp concepts?
The last question is particularly important. Dobbs continues to wow teams once he's allowed to discuss pro-style concepts despite playing in a spread collegiate system.
"My senior year I was taking astronautics, propulsion and an aerodynamics class...all on the same day," he told The MMQB's Emily Kaplan. "At the same time as football season when I was leading an SEC team. I think I can handle it."
This isn't to say Dobbs lacks the physical tools or level of play necessary to be a legit quarterback prospect. He's 6'3" and 216 pounds with top-five performances among quarterbacks at the NFL combine in the 40-yard dash (4.64 seconds), vertical jump (33 inches), broad jump (10'2") and three-cone drill (6.75 seconds). He also scored 87 career touchdowns and helped lead Tennessee from a 5-7 record to 9-4 seasons and bowl games.
"Dobbs definitely has the tools to be a solid player in the league," an AFC college scouting director told NFL.com's Bucky Brooks. "He's smart, tough and athletic. Plus, he showed at the Senior Bowl that he could adapt to a pro-style offense."
No one should be surprised when the Tennessee product is drafted higher than expectedwhich was the middle to late rounds.
9-3 is the absolute best case scenario IMO. This team has so many question marks that it is hard to blame anyone for not buying into this team. They could go undefeated but from an objective viewpoint it makes sense for people to say we will go 8-4 at best
For the last few years I've gotten blasted on here as a nega because I picked us to lose more games than most posters expected (I was right every time btw). This year it seems like the tables have turned. I see Bama as the only likely loss. UF, LSU, and UGA all seem like games that could go either way to me. I think 9-3 or 10-2 are the most likely outcomes.
SIAP, but looks like Hurd is still looking at other schools. Baylor this time.
