The spring absences of Chance Hall and Brett Kendrick has opened the door some of Tennessee's tackles to play more reps, and Tatum has been getting a handful of first-team work with Drew Richmond operating on the left and prized freshman Trey Smith practicing at both book-end spots.
And Tatum appears to be making the most of it, with Vols' defensive end Jonathan Kongbo backing up Wells's praise of the lanky 6-foot-6 lineman. "He's really mature," Kongbo said. "He put on a lot of weight. He's much more physical at the point of attack. He's been doing a good job in the weight room. He's gotten much bigger than when I last went up against him. When I go in for a bull rush or whatnot, I can tell the difference in his body."
