You have not been paying attention. Do you even know where they stand on the issues, or do you just regurgitate what Air America feeds you?

Good point. And to be fair, substitute Air America with Fox News, and the same could be said of many other posters on here too.

True! Speaking of Fox News did you happen to see the O'Reilly interview with Hillary? I thought Bill did a good job challenging her on issues important to him while being respectful and getting meaningful answers about her views. Although I do not like her as a candidate I think she did very well.

Bush still couldn't find him if he were.

I know you intend to poke fun at Bush but what you are doing is putting down our military who just do what they are told. What we need is someone to get Pakistan to force him out of hiding. Pakistan is able to do so but has not so far. It is valid to blame Bush for not making that happen though.

Let's double our national debt over the next 6 years and be forced to continue to borrow from the likes of China and Japan. Brilliant. And all for a $1200 tax break that most American's will frivolously spend on goods shipped in from China and Japan. What does our debt current equate to, about $6K per family?

We all know that being fiscally savvy is the right move, but our government continues to plummet into the red.

You're right - it was a poke at Bush and in no way a reflection on our service men and women. It would just make me "feel" better if we brought that scum to justice once and for all.

No one said you have to accept the $1,200.00. You are more than welcome to give it back.

you're talking about open auction purchasers of T-bills and T-notes. That's not some new wave of borrowing from foreign countries. We would borrow either way, those countries see those as safe harbor investments and like our "risk-free" return better than other "risk-free" alternatives. Our money continues to get cheap enough, and you'll see those numbers drop precipitously.

bmfpv - couldn't help myself.

I didn't say it was a new method. But as the deficit grows we must continue to issue more t-notes to cover increasing debt. And the devaluation of the dollar is making the buyers question the safety of investing in our country.

I like the addition of the 'mf'. It really sends the message home.

I'll vote for McCain. Is he perfect? Not by a long shot but short of draconian measures, I don't think anyone can right the financial ship of state in four years. But he is a vet and I have great respect for that when coupled with many years of public service. I think we have a greater hope for him putting AMERICANS first in his policies and practices.

Obama, if he secures the Demo nod will polarize America to a degree reminiscent of the sixties. Since I turn a relatively good buck, I'm sure he will want to tax the living crap out of me. The man has little experience and will direct a presidency with an ineptness that will rival Jimmy Carter. I just don't think he loves America.

And then there's Hillary, Bill's fat legged little turtledove. She is also short on experience but one can hope that she will be more mainstream in selecting her supporting cast. She can certainly be depended upon to tax me to death. I think she is basically dishonest and self-serving.

Not for long. China's emerging market on the world is strenghtening their economy rapidly. If India plays their cards right they could become a major economical player too.

ummm why do you think their economy is improving? what % of their gdp is due to US exports. 50%? If china intentionally starts dumping US treasuries all the US govt would have to do is impose a 15% tarrif on chinese goods and their economy woudl be in the toilet. i love people talkign about the china middle class. do people realize the middle class in china make $2K a year? they have a long ways to go before they challenge america for anything..

the china economy isn't doing nearly as well as the chinese claim it is. the govt there invents growth numbers and they've been overbuilding for years. there are currently thousands of empty factories that should be full if the china govt figures were accurate. if our consumer spending slows down (which it appears it is) the china economy will be in the toilet in 3 months. it probably already is, but the chinese wont admit it. particurally with the olympics coming up. dont' believe everything you read. the demise of the US economy is widely exagerated.
