Retarded and box of rocks are nowhere near the same thing. Exercise your empathy muscles and try to see how offensive it is to use a mental condition that someone has to suffer from as a really unclever insult toward someone who made a dumb comment. I'm often going against the PC crowd, but even I think it's crude at best and hateful at worst to use a really really sad mental condition as a casual insult.

I think Croom has a good chance to go in the later rounds. The interest level in him at TE has increased exponentially with his MVP performance at the All-Star game in Florida. I wouldn't be surprised to see someone take a chance on Danny or Dylan in the late rounds, but probably not. I think if Danny could've finished off the year and not got in trouble with drugs, he would have definitely been a late round pick. He was playing very good ball last year.

You are probably right. Most teams will probably be scared to waste a draft pick on him, since he was dismissed from the team. However, if he has his crap together, I would not be surprised to see him make a roster.

This. I have no problem with mixing it up, but there is a difference between being PC and having some class. We all presumably have some tie to the South, so this shouldn't be the foreign concept that it is. Everybody now is so wrapped up with showing they aren't scared of the PC boogeyman that they forget that it's ok to show a little class.

I agree with this Jave. I'm FAR from PC, but there are some things I've learned that aren't acceptable to say. I used that term in a derogatory way at work when I was in high school, you know, just kinda something we always said. Well my boss had a son with DS and it hurt her pretty bad.

There are some things that just aren't worth fighting over just because you don't want to bow to the PC police and imo this is one of them. It didn't hurt me to give up using that word in any way shape or form, but it is hurtful to some people when we use it, so why not just throw the word away?

I'm not being judgemental towards those who used it in this thread, just saying it isn't necessary, even though I know you didn't mean it to be derogatory to those with actual mental illness or limitations.

My .02 fwiw
