You know there's only 32 picks in the first round, correct?

I do. Justin Martin has rare ability. He's tall, long, fast, and athletic. CBs with his physical gifts are far and few in between.

Remember this name Ahkello Witherspoon. He's a kid much like Justin Martin. He played for Colorado last year. Nobody knew anything about him this time last year. He had a great senior season at Colorado. He went to the combine, measured 6'3" with long arms and ran 4.4 in the 40. He now might hear his name called in the first round.

Justin Martin could have the same trajectory. We all know he has the talent. If he has a good year this season he'll get invited to the combine. And once there he could potentially put on a show athletically like Witherspoon and see his draft stock soar.

The NFL is a measurables league. And they will absolutely love Justin Martin's measureables.

It seems we have a lot of really good pieces this year on our team. I didn't realize we still had so much talent on the team still. I hope we can pull it all together this fall and surprise some folks.

Shoop on Warrior...

“That’s a big, emphatic, capital Y-E-S,” Shoop said demonstrably when asked if Warrior was taking advantage of his chance this spring. “He’s probably been the best player through the first third of camp here.

“I’ve coached for a long, long time and his maturity, the way he’s grown up as a man over the last three or four months, the relationships he’s developed with his teammates and his coaches, trying to do everything right in the meeting rooms, on the field and in the community…it’s as good as I’ve ever seen.” That’s more than a mouthful from Shoop who can sometimes be a little taciturn when critiquing or praising players.

Furthermore, Warrior clearly had a difficult time earning the detail-oriented Shoop’s trust as a freshman. Not that it’s uncommon for a freshman to have trouble earning playing time, but the Vols weren’t exactly fielding an all-star caliber secondary last fall. Yet Warrior still had difficulty earning playing time from Shoop.

It’s safe to say that the level of trust between the two is in a different place now based off of Shoop’s post practice comments on Thursday. To hear Shoop tell it, the light has simply come on for Warrior. “He came in with such high expectations last year because of who he is, another legacy guy…and we probably put him in situations that he wasn’t ready for at times last year. He gets it now,” Shoops said of Warrior.

“We were sitting in a meeting the other day and he just looked at me and said, ‘I don’t know how I didn’t understand all this stuff last year. This is so easy.’ “He’s a totally different person and he’s really excelled through the first five days. I hope he continues on that progression.”

If we have good QB play we can go far, especially with the upgrades in coaching

Eh I don't think it's ignorant because people who say retarded to mean silly or dumb know what they're doing for the most part.

At this point it's basically just a way someone can indicate they disagree with today's overly-PC culture without havinf to go through the trouble of thinking up something clever to say (which is ironic, in a way).

Well when a single post has a hint of anti-Semitism, mixed with a lack of sensitivity for mental illness, plus includes derogatory name calling of the disabled then that post is not a demonstration of a lack of cleverness.

I would think a military man, of all people, would show a little more respect to all three category of people. Or, maybe he's just National Guard.

I am probably most worried about our DL and LB's. I believe the talent is there with our DB's, and they will be good with some proper coaching. Also, what happens if Kelly goes down at RB? That would keep me up at night if I'm coach. Hopefully Chandler comes in and balls day one. I think either qb will be successful for us, we really do have 2 great options.

OMG...this is so freakin over the top. And you PC popes wonder why there is a massive backlash against it?

What was anti-semetic about my post?

I do question the mental status of some folks on here. The definition of insanity is repeating the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. They are posting the same thing over and over and expecting the rest of us to react differently.

As for being a military man, I have served our nation for over 18 years and put myself and my family second to my service on numerous occasions. I shouldn't matter if I am active Army, National Guard, or Reserve. It shouldn't matter if I'm Army, Air Force, Marine, Navy, or the Coast Guard. If you have served then you should know that. If you haven't then cork your hole because you have earned the right to say anything about my service.

I will stand up in defense of any person in this country including you. I don't care about race, religion, or anything else. You don't know thing one about me. Feel free to exercise your freedom of speech though. My military service has helped make sure that you have that one.

Doesn't feel good to be called names does it?

I made an overarching comment about the nature of the posting in this thread the last several days. I didn't attack any single poster or insult the sacrifice that they make for our country. I might be a jerk from time to time but you are a complete ass. I don't care if you call me names. Call me anything you want. When you start degrading a person's military service because of the branch or type of service they choose to undertake then you will get my attention. I'm done with you now though. Good luck in your lesson teaching with someone who cares.

I wonder if this would work.

FS: Warrior
SS: Gaulden
CB: Osborne
CB: Martin

The others as reserves....

A lot of athleticism to play with.

Abernathy is too good to keep off the field. I would go with:

CB - Martin/Buchanan
CB - Moseley/Osborne
NB - Gaulden
FS - Abernathy/Berry
SS - Warrior/TKjr

Abernathy and Warrior would probably be the most athletic safety duo in the SEC.

I'm of Jewish descent and I don't get the anti-semitism vibe from him at all.

I personally think that when people get offended over words, they lend power to those words. In short, people need to quit worry about being PC and look at the intent behind what was said. Was he trying to be churlish? No. What he said was in jest. Maybe instead of a character attack you could inquire as to what he meant.

I think last year they played that nickel back as force a lot so I think that is why you saw Gaulden at NB but supposedly they are changing scheme a little bit and if they do....

Well then that^ would definitely be fielding our best four...

RG7 should never turn his back to the LOS again for the rest of his playing career. He should be coming down hil at the snap EVERY PLAY

I'm not sold on Osbourne but I sure as hell hope he beats out 12

Personally I want Warrior at SS. Not sure if he and Gail den would be the best safety combo because they both probably fit better at SS than FS.
