Isn't that basically what I said? All 8-4 records are not created equally. If we go 8-4 and lose close games to UGA, UA, LSU and GT or FLA he probably keeps his job. Although it could definitely be argued that a loss to GT or Fla would be a bad loss, depending how healthy the team is, etc.

But throw in a candy type loss again and I think it's a good chance he is gone, but knowing our administration still not a given.

When did I disagree with that?

Also, UF UGA and LSU could have awful seasons this year. Is 8-4 a good year if that's the case?

I think we will be fine with either CFA of Ty Chandler. I think Chandler might come in and earn those carries.

Chandler is going to be a beast. I think we'll see a lot of him early. The only thing that concerns me is he is not coming for spring.

I think CFA will be a lot better than some think. He played pretty well last year (minus the fumble causing bust v. SC).

I wish we had a fullback type of power runner for certain situations, but hey, it's not like we'd ever use one anyway.

lol I think we are agreeing more than disagreeing.

8-4 could be acceptable under certain circumstances or it could be borderline disastrous. Given our administration I just don't think it's such a sure thing as you do.

For the record I don't think any of these scenarios happen. I think we're gonna have a sneaky good year and Butch gets the train rolling.

I think they'll be fun to watch this year. They have some young pieces to build on. Once their rock star pitching makes it to the majors --- look out. I think they'll be very good as early as next year. Maybe the year after.

Braves have the pieces to be 3rd in the east possibly second if the Mets have the injury bug

If he goes 8-4 and we hire another project coach then my butt will not be in the seat. If we can't hire a top coach then I am done if we do that after another 8-4 year. Will focus money on Braves season tickets instead.

Don't do that...the Braves stink, too.

With how abysmal the state of the program was when Butch took over, just focusing on number of wins doesn't give a clear picture IMO.

Depending on level of optimism I would say he either met or exceeded expectations in his first 3 seasons, but overall he succeeded in rebuilding the program.

Year 4 he didn't meet expectations, but again the degree to which he failed is also an eye of the beholder type thing.

I don't think you fire a coach after year 5 when he's met/exceeded expectations in 3 of his 4 years unless year 5 is a MAJOR failure, which would mean only 6 or 7 wins

CFA should be fine as our backup. Put on some much needed weight.

Wonder if CFA can start as change of pace back and then be the third down back to catch and block as needed? If Kelly has to do it all then that is going to be too much, I would think. No matter how studly he has shown to be. Do have faith in CFA though. Got too.
