Being a confrontational bunghole contrarion doesn't get you very far either...not that you are one...just sayin. Coming off like a football nerd know it all is going to piss people off too...not that you did...just sayin. I get aggravated at Breaker, but I like him. He knows a lot, a lot of guys here know a lot, but he generally doesn't try to make you feel stupid because you don't know every stupid coaching nerd term for every technique being taught.
Yea.... You win the most passive aggressive post award for the day.... Also... I will try to be nicer... I know I can be a di&@ sometimes...

Here's the quote in context:

"Guarantano is a big, mobile and elusive guy. He’s already been working with QB guru George Whitfield, who has said good things. With continued added weight, he could develop into a Cam Newton-type of player."

Like I said, let JG be JG.

There was a kid from FSU a few years back who was really smart like Dobbs. I remember they said something similar about him.

Edit- Myron Rolle, studied at Oxford. Drafted in the 6th round.
He was a Rhodes Scholar. He's doing a residency at Harvard medical now I think.

There's a history of really smart guys who don't pan out in the NFL...but most of them aren't the best players either.

I think it is safe to assume most NFL teams don't want guys who are too smart and/or have too many options though. They want guys who live and breath football and have all of their eggs in that basket.

I can see some teams having a bit of a concern about Dobbs' potential career as an engineer. In some ways it's the same type of concern you'd have over a prospect who might try to jump to the MLB if football doesn't work out.

Geez, dont put any pressure on the guy. JG is nothing like Newton and likely never will be. Lets let JG create his own legacy and mystique.

lol at the comparison the guy makes. They look nothing alike physically. Newton is taller and was probably 30 lbs. heavier in college, even more so now. The only thing they share are strong arms in the pass game. JG uses quickness to run, Newton is a long strider that will run over you.

Like BOT said, let JG be JG.

Interesting analogy. I guess I could buy that. Although there is still a major difference - athletes are only able to play for a certain number of years. So, if football wasn't looking promising, and baseball was an option, get while the gettin's good. Engineering would wait until options are exhausted, so there wouldn't be the same pressure.

But I know what you're saying.

I have nothing to do with it or to gain.

But surely you all can figure this out. Why else would there be no consequences?
