Some interesting observations from the 1st practice. Shy was actually and doing some work in the sideline. The reporter said he seems to be further along in his progress than is expected.

Also, Daniel Lewis noted that Butch was not screaming any throughout the practice...wondered if it was an anomaly or if he's maybe turning things more over to his staff.

Looks more fit but definitely not small. His lower body still looks strong. Keep in mind he's probably not done much with his upper body in the last few months after his torn pec.

Is he sick? That's not been Butch. Maybe it was Z inciting him into it before. When I go to a practice or two in August will see if that is still the case.

Ahh gotcha. Maybe my pops was misremembering. Wouldn't be the first time.

You are both kind of right. He played 4 years and got better each year. He was blasted by the media his first three years here, and to his credit loves everything about Tennessee and ignored the media and some fans. He was a huge star in high school and had intense pressure to really perform miracles. I socialized with him some in high school and have followed his career very closely.

Just watch...he'll be running a 5 second 40 by the middle of fall camp, and then suddenly we'll get an update two days before the GT game from Hubbs about him being "a long ways away from taking the field."
