Good Article on JG in the Tennessean

JG's elite 11 performance is on YouTube and I watched it. He was going against the best defensive talent and was told what plays to throw and got no help from his receivers but his passes looked a whole lot like dormady's.

Can somebody summarize? Got a no Tennessean link policy.

just about him spending spring break with George Whitfield at a camp, goes over some of the training drills they will use, and some insight on the relationship and expectations CBJ and CMC have with Whitfield, since they've send QB's there before.

nothing groundbreaking, but there's some nice kudos about JG from whitfield when he saw JG at an elite 11 camp a couple years ago.

and there's a little insight to JG's personality, per whitfield's perception of it, and how he as a competitor carry's himself....

Give me some of that "evidence". When you throw big important words like 90% and EXPERTS around, you should be able to give a pretty decent cross-sampling that DOESN'T include an article where the author was simply impressed with JG's makeup (as we all are). And get over the butthurt and throwing out "lying" when you're not expressing FACTS! You simply can't ride with your OPINION without this mythical panel of EXPERTS that have declared JG a far "superior passer" than Dormady. Quote doesn't exist! Nothing in the post you responded to justified your angry response. Live with the FACT that your opinion isn't backed by any percentages or expert dissertations on the subject. If JG wins the job it ain't because you and your THINK TANK knew it.

Come on now Butchna. You have seen the countless threads posted and articles linked. The op is another example. The Doug Mathews thread on it. The Swain thread on it. The hundred other threads about articles praising JG. The practice reports from the fall. It is all here. Stop acting like you have been oblivious to all the things already posted.

You are right that we have no affect on if he starts or not. The reports are the reports though. Wrong or right.

Haven't seen ONE quote from an impartial party that has declared JG a "far superior" passer...or simply a BETTER passer. Go ahead and post one...there's so many to choose from. :) Plenty of PRAISE..but that ain't the narrative you keep spouting. "C'mon". :wink2:

Personally I have never liked starting a new QB that is a junior unless he has 3 years left to play. The Team has him two seasons if he does not get hurt and then you are starting over. I will take JG as the starter and take my lumps the first year. I know Butch is on the "Warm" seat and needs to win 8-9 games and a bowl but I feel like having a QB that can play for 4 years is the better option long term. Call me crazy but I will take a 8-4 or 7-5 next year to get an extra two years of the same QB. I am not a millennial that has to have everything now.

Well I don't think the people that report on it want to bash Dormady. I know Swain and Mathews have said on their shows JG passes better and will be the future. Every article praising JG as the most talented qb we have had in years and will start implies him being better than Dormady. Dormady is talented. But if people say JG has the strongest arm, is the most talented, and will start they are letting you know who they think better player is.

whitfield and Dilfer both have praised him, and i'd call them impartial.

but either way, in regards to JG, it's still a 2nd hand opinion on what they've seen in a controlled environment.

no one can definitively say he is going to be this or that. you can have an educated opinion on it. but it's sitll just an opinion, until.......

and for the record, IMO, i do think JG has the most upside, and can have a bigger impact.

So they SAY IT to you? :) And which articles have declared him the starter? Can't seem to find one.

And NEITHER has ever worked with Dormady...take that with that grain of salt. And doesn't address my request for said impartial that has declared JG a SUPERIOR passer...how would they know? :)

No problem with that OPINION. Might share it myself someday. You're not a noted EXPERT, by any chance?

Unless something happens in camp we already know the answer to this. As it stands now it's QD then JG then SJ. Now we wait for camp.

I'm sorry but I just don't see enough of a difference between QD and JG to move JG ahead in depth. JG even LOOKS like dormady when dormady came in. If something changes in spring I'll reconsider it but I don't see it yet. Dormady is JG with more development.

SJ is the wild card in this. He seems like a different QB to me.
