P5 is relevant to athletics. Chancellors deal primarily with academics. She wanted an Athletic Director with P5 experience. She isn't the AD.

Well then how about "chancellor's experience"? She's never been one before, doesn't have it. So how was she qualified for the position she currently has? The hypocrisy is strong here.

She put stipulations on the candidates that made sure to directly eliminate 2 people.....gotta be a sitting AD, that eliminated Fulmer....gotta be a Power 5 AD, that eliminated Blackburn. And those stipulations were beyond hypocritical given that had President Dipietro put similar "qualifications" on our chancellor hire, she'd have been immediately eliminated

she is a ding bat. hire the AD that gave us Kiffin. there is nothing she could have done more to cause a problem with the fan base. hire the AD from slippery rock would have been better, when the new AD starts to get fans and boosters to give more money..that is his real job..he will find a lot of anger not money.

Anyone else hear Doug Mathews drop the dime that Currie referred to Coach Fulmer as the "fat bastard" to donors?

You say that now, but most people here were calling him far worse before he was let go. The donut and fat jokes ran wild on VN before suddenly we all respected him again.

next thing we may here is we are trying to steal Kiffin. the program as got some problems. my hope is Jones can fix them. if he can not,God help us.. i do not think the new AD can. the football team is the center peace of the department. i am not a Fulmer man but he does no a little more than the average AD about football. even Majors in a wheel chair would have been better. how about Manning or Bill Bates. why is it a bad idea to have a expert on football as the AD. the department will rise of fall by the out come of the football team. people do not give money to watch softball and swimming contest.

Only a handful of idiots said crap like that.

That being said, it's one thing for anonymous fans to post insults like that on a message board. It's quite another for a Senior Associate Athletic Director to call him that publicly while flying around the country meeting with boosters in order to secure the necessary support to fire him in the middle of the season.


Edit: and let me add this. Everyone acknowledges that Currie damaged relationships and burned some bridges on the way out of town in 2009. But some have said "oh he was young, hopefully he's matured and learned some things and changed".....he was a 37 year old married father of 3 at the time this all happened.

where there there is smoke there is firer. there are bad vibes coming out of the program for months now. star running back leaves 450 yards of a school record. players out for bad drug tests ..sexual abuse charges by players settled for 2.5 million. the program has turned in to animal house and Jones is Otter this is not over is my point..this has been a drip..drip..drip.. no sign of letting up.

What was your previous screen name? I'm thinking junder, but I made him have a nervous breakdown on this board. :) Reason I ask is you're trying too hard. Really rapid fire troll stuff! Like you're trying to get it all out before you're perma-banned...again. You could be rcvol>eastsidevol but he usually tried to establish himself as a Vol fan but failed because he wasn't and couldn't fool anybody. I'll figure it out. i am not worried about being banned . i sorry i just point out your not going to do so well with all freshman. as you know all of it is true and more . i did not get into coaches leaving like rats from a sinking ship. there is problems over there. there is no reason to get mad or stick your head in the sand and say ever thing is grate. i hope it is grate.i do

You see rcvol wouldn't even try to mix it up. He would claim a law degree from UT and then talk about how we had lost the state to Vandy. You're jumping on the Title IX, which we masterfully settled and a starter who failed drug tests (Tim Williams anybody?) as yours. So maybe you're back rc. Instead of pretending to be a lawyer you're pretending to use internet access from prison. Well played. :)
