If you go to the KSU boards the majority hate to lose him. Ask yourself this question "If Kstate hated him so bad why did they offer him an extension and a considerable raise after UT pursued him?"

I hope this tension doesn't carry over long term. A house divided cannot stand. I'm disappointed we even have to worry about something like this. I'm still going to reserve judgment and see what happens, but I must admit I'm not pleased at the idea of bringing in unnecessary tension. Hopefully it will work itself out.

If Blackburn was hired, you'd have some folks complaining that's he's an up comer and doesn't have experience at a powerhouse school. Not everyone was going to be satisfied anyway so how does Haynesworth's perspective on the hire change anything?

Personally it's just constant bickering coming from both sides cause Blackburn wasn't hired. That's all it is. I'm very pleased with the hire and wish Currie a lot of luck. At least give the guy a damn chance before you start assuming he's a bad hire.

have not read or listened to the media in knoxville or at K. State. this guy sounds like he'll be the AD version of Dooley.

With all due respect to Coach Fulmer, but the last time I checked, colleges don't hire a fired head coach to be AD.

there is a big difference in "they" and coaches and fans.

i think you'd agree the majority of the fans wanted Blackburn but "they" wanted this guy. so i wouldn't put too much weight in the contact ext and raise. you be a great money raiser and have bad relationships with coaches and fans

Fulmer had absolutely no experience at being an AD. He was up against at least 2, maybe more candidates that had that experience.

There was already tension between Fulmer and Blackburn. Both played the media and this is what the result is.

They may have thought they were helping when in fact they have created the divide.

Google Phil Fulmer Shoney's. Check out what pops up. My only question of Currie, since he was here at the time, is why this was covered up. If stupidity came in colors, Phil used every shade crayola makes. Bring him back? I don't get it.

I like Fulmer a bunch and am grateful that he was our HC and brought us a NC. However, how often has someone been fired from a company, came back and was successful?

Charles Davis is always positive. He is fair in what he says - but always finds the positive within any negativity that happens - at least that is what I have noticed.

As such, I think he is good for UT as a balance to these "sky is always falling" folks.

Who's the worse lowlife scumbag the one that purposely tries to end a players career with a deliberate dirty hit and then laughs about it to their face or the guy that retaliates?

It's all crap for sure and maybe he should have left it alone and maybe his whole story is a lie, until proven otherwise, I back his play.

Every criminal has a great excuse why they did what they did. No room for stomping a guy in the face on the field ever........no matter if hes laughing at you or not.

Just from the info already put out there I think Fulmer and friends are not as angry about not being named AD as they are that Currie was. There's clearly unresolved bad blood, which is a huge bummer. Friends and former players who are loyal to Fulmer are naturally going to go to bat for him. I just hope everyone can kiss and make up so we can focus on advancing UT athletics baggage free.
