I'm confused now. Are we hating Blackburn now or fighting with him? I need to know as to what to do with my....er what my friend needs to do with his/her pitch fork. Thanks in advanced and asking for a friend.

The FF really cracks me up. Saban hires Weinke for what ever it is he hired him for....QC?....Analyst? and of course now, once again, TN can't do anything right...lol.

I personally can't understand how anyone can go through life that miserable...and actually think they are the ones that are ok.

Real adult stuff stuff for sure. "I'm going to fill my own yard with piss until they put my drenched carcass in that pretty green one". :cray:

Why is that bad? Doesn't mention UTK at all and is not trashing UTK even backhandedly. If folks knew how he and coach Fulmer were treated in this process, you'd be embarrassed.

No they wouldn't...They really don't give a crap. They have been fed a steaming pile of crap, and they want more. I am not on board with this crap hire...at all. Not that it matters. This dude Currie sounds like a effin jackass to me. Whose ass did he moist up? You know who, and I know you do.

Like I said, you have no idea how they were treated.

Nor do I care but anytime I hear about how grown ass men were "treated badly" I want to throw up. Its tough out there too bad they didn't get the job they wanted, life goes on. I'm sure they are both gonna be fine and won't go hungry.

I'm not even criticizing the hire. My gripe is with the disrespectful and unprofessional way both VFLs were treated. Frankly, I was shocked.

Cant blame DB for being upset. He had expected this to be his job and turned down some very good schools because this is the one he wanted and was promised by some. He should keep the talk behind closed doors though such as maybe call some of those guys against him and tell them they will regret the day they passed on him. That's better than going public

I'm not surprised that DB is reacting this way. I think it is partially warranted. However, I was not a fan of his public comments during the "search" process. I just didn't feel that, professionally, it was the best look for him. And him posting these comments today fits into the same category.

Yesterday evening, Fulmer had an open forum to air any type of comments/grievances that he wished. His choice? To cancel his meeting with the press. I think it is much more professional to take the high road.

Edit: Kind-of got Swanson'd by GoBigOrange86

Why is he "now impassioned" to give more effort, exactly? And if I were UTC, I would be distressed to know he wasn't already giving maximal effort.

Well, when your employer knows that you are applying for a position somewhere else that is higher-paying and more responsibility, I think it is fine to let them know that you are even more dedicated to working your hardest when you don't get the other position.

It has been postulated that he was not really treated very well by the administration during this process. Maybe he brought some of it on himself with some of the stuff he went public with. He really wanted this job and felt he was the best person for it. I really don't see anything wrong with that tweet. There might be others that I have not read, but I disagree with your characterization that it was immature.

Neither are upset they didn't get the job. It's more about the knife that was placed in their back by the university that both men loved and respected. You go on on about how it's a dog eat dog world but when you get screwed by people you thought were your friends it tends to cause rifts. Rifts that we don't need. You are criticizing Blackburn for being unprofessional while at the same time defending those that were about as unprofessional as it gets.

It's obvious you and I disagree on this but to me it comes down to class.

Until he shows me different, Currie is a crap hire. I just hope he doesn't screw it up worse than it is already.

Hiring a previous Ad of the year at one of the handful of schools working in the black with the top APR in Big 12 is hardly a crap hire. Major improvement in facilities. The guy knows what he is doing on the business side of things zero question on that. It sounds like he needs to work on his personal part
