Much more difficult than believing a kid that was destined for the Naval Academy managed to outwork teammates and impress coaches. :hi:

you have a good point. How would the money work? It's for sure an out there thought but coaches pay players to come play you don't think it could go the other way at some point? Idk. You got me thinking now..I'm trying to put together how it would work out. Yea it'd have to come down from butch right?

He was very negative about the program during the Dooley years, and rightly so. Perhaps that's why. I do know that he's very connected to the program and boosters.

His name was definitely mentioned early on....just not often and certainly not recently. Think he was pretty quickly dismissed due to his Hamilton connection.

Wouldn't surprise me if the search firm they hired spread rumors about Fulmer being all but official. They had everyone in the media looking at the Blackburn and Fulmer race, while they went out and interviewed other candidates.

Sounds to me like she took the power away from everyone with a sound hire that nobody saw coming, which is a power move worthy of the best of them. She did her job. I suspect she would have liked to wait it out a little longer but was unable to when people started asking a lot of questions about why Blackburn hadn't been hired yet.

SIAP, but according to RTI's Nathanael Rutherford, Currie's time at Tennessee under Hamilton was a mixed bag.... managed the coaching search that gave us Bruce Pearl...that's good.

Did likewise for baseball coach Todd Raleigh and football coach Lane Kiffin....es no bueno.

Did you have a problem with Alex Ellis playing? He was a walk on that earned a spot over players rated higher.

I guess his parents did not have money so you can't work that angle.

Seems she pissed off some big money people in the process. Maybe it couldn't be helped, I just want to think a person in her position would have figured out how to handle it better.

Again, I don't know and just guessing from what I've read. Anyone taking my opinion on this seriously, needs a hammer to the head.

Witch Doctor say hes what everyone wanted..a UT guy. They just kept it off the radar, If Phil really wanted it, I think he would have gotten it..Peyton had a say Im sure or at least a strong opinion. Hey on the other side an AD really dont do much so there ya go.

Witch Doctor say they kept it away from the Knox Sports Media. I dont understand why not Blackburn...I think they may have pursued Fulmer (?) and he really didnt want it ( wild guess) interested to see what he says..if he is mad about it, we will know! lol
