As I have stated, I am more than willing to give Currie a chance. Hopefully, all of our major coaches will stabilize these upcoming seasons and we won't be in the coach-hiring mode anytime soon. What does bother me, though, is that Blackburn did not even get an interview. I understand that the search firm made its recommendations, but how do you not interview David Blackburn before you make your final decision? I will move on here, for now, as there seem to be a pretty mixed bag of reviews so far. The national media is very positive on this hire. I think that our local media will be as well as they don't want to get off on the wrong foot with the new AD.

This hire reeks of doing anything but what the fan base wants. I don't think David was ever on the table once the title IX hire arrived on campus. We will never field a championship caliber program in any sport until we have a culture change on every level of the UT administration. This is not a slam at Butch. Butch can't do it alone, it's takes a dedication at all levels from the BOT on down and we currently don't have that.

We are in 100% agreement.

I'm not going to say much but from what I understand how it went down, I'd take the first Ad job I could find out from underneath the UT umbrella. And if the university called in the future I'd give them the old single finger salute.

Quotes from everybody's favorite VFL, Bruce Pearl, and former AD Mike Hamilton when Currie took the KSU AD job in 2009:

“John Currie’s going to be a tremendous (athletic director) one day, but selfishly, I hope we can keep him around here for as long as possible,” basketball coach Bruce Pearl told the Chattanooga Times Free Press last year. “He’s been so important to our program. He’s been one of the guys that’s helped us get to this point.”

Currie and Hamilton hired Pearl in 2005, and Pearl went on to earn national coach of the year honors after leading the Volunteers to a 22-8 record in his first season. Currie also played a significant role in the hiring of football coach Lane Kiffin and baseball coach Todd Raleigh.

“He was intimately involved in our hire of our football coach, basketball coach and baseball coach, all three of our most recent hires,” Hamilton said. “The basketball coach in particular, coach Pearl, it was the two of us who did the search. There wasn’t anybody else involved in it. He was very much involved in a lot of our research, planning the kind of questions we were going to ask and helping make decisions. It was the same when we hired coach Kiffin this past winter.”

Sounds promising........

Aw, come on, spill just a little. Why didn't Blackburn get an interview?

Martin made the NCAA 4 out of 5 seasons in Manhattan and has an Elite 8 appearance. He's also taking South Carolina to their first tournament appearance since 2004. They're basically on par with Auburn in terms of basketball historical success. Both K-State and South Carolina were in rough shape when he arrived and he made both competitive. Weber had a strong resume when he arrived in Manhattan, but may miss the tournament three years in a row.

It's all relative. As much as I want to defend the SEC, he hasn't been playing in a very tough conference. I know he inherited a mess when he got to USC. But I have no doubt the man can be tough to get along with.

I just don't think that Martin leaving KSU means that Currie is a bad AD. Will it work out? None of us know.

What's that narrative?

UT is hell bent on appeasing liberals and the Title IX zealots that currently control everything from syllabus fonts to cafeteria lunch selections and everything in between on The Hill.

Nothing will ever be good again. Nothing can ever be good again.

Feminists will run everything and have the ultimate say in everything.

Maybe bits and pieces have some truth to them, but it doesn't exactly match what a ton of people are saying.

When you have the facts, argue the facts.

When you have the law, argue the law.

If you cannot dazzle them with your brilliance, baffle them with your bull$#!%. :)

Do something they never expect and laugh over your shoulder on your way to the goal line!!!

Are there verbs missing from this?

He should have been fired, so?

Not disagreeing with that. Just that this thing took a 180 turn.

Frontrunner DB doesn't get a sniff.

New frontrunner candidate Fulmer starts getting some traction then we end up hiring the guy who fired Fulmer.

It has been a circus since July. How we got here is what is so embarrassing. You can drink the bathwater if you want. I'm not on this one.

The hire almost always comes out of left field, I've seen enough to know that and expect it. I'm willing to see how it goes.

Yeah, I don't know why anyone thinks hiring Kiffin as a head coach is a good thing. He has only been fired at every place he's landed in that position.

I wouldn't be proud of that on my resume.

Oh well, on to NFL combine and spring practice. Spending hours griping and moaning only gets you bent out of shape. Doesn't accomplish anything else.

What supports the Title IX/Feminist narrative though? That's where I get lost.

Other than rampant speculation and a half-a$$ game of connect the dots, what else is there?

Please point me in the direction of actual information. If its there, I will gladly consider it but up until now I haven't seen a thing other than whispers, insinuations, and speculation.
