She has absolutely no business making this hire. If they're just making it appear as if she actually is involved with the hire that's fine and understandable. Something tells me though that she really is the one calling the shot and that will probably end up being some clown like Bohn that she has a previous relationship with.

She'll probably ask her friend Margaret to take the job. Woman hates sports, but can nail a quality Christmas cookie swap

I found a live stream of the UT AD search if anyone is interested in viewing the progress:

Am I the only one who doesn't really care about the AD hire?

It's important, yes. But most fans have limited understanding of the job beyond coaching hires anyway, so why get so bent over it?

Honestly, the fanbase is going to hate the hire eventually regardless of who it is. The only difference is that Blackburn or Fulmer might get a two-year grace period before everybody turns, whereas fans will hate a guy like Bohn right from the outset.

How is Whittingham as a recruiter?

Does more with less at UTAH. Wouldn't have to in Knoxville. Hard to lure top talent to Salt Lake City especially when BYU was the traditional power in that state. Seems to have made huge inroads in recruiting since they joined the Pac-12. I put him in the same stratosphere as Gary Patterson. Coaches who made the program even bigger after taking over from highly successful predecessors (Meyer,Franchione).

Compared to Dooley?

I think his first class would've been inferior. Dooley did a great job salvaging that first top 10 class. Kept most of what Kiffin had landed and added Stone,Hunter and Rodgers who he had no shot at. Degraded gradually from there while I feel Whittingham would've established relationships with high schools effectively.

I'm with you. Everyone loves Blackburn now, but if he starts making bad decisions as the AD, then support will fade away quickly and the UT administration will be blamed for hiring a guy that the fans wanted.

Davenport probably senses a power vacuum and is making a move to have her own voice heard. In any other scenario she gets handed a script and does whatever the bot decide.

We have a very obvious leadership issues all the way to the top.

Those with kids will understand this analogy as to what I think is going on.

Have you ever went out to dinner and let your children choose? You know how it always turns into "I want McDonald's, I want Wendy's, I want Chic-Fil-A!" pissing match? I suspect the BOT and boosters can't agree and are unwilling to compromise so the new chancellor is choosing where to eat. You know? How when you make the decision on where to eat and you make sure you pick something none of them like to teach them a lesson?

Doug Mathews seemed to think yesterday that she''ll have a lot more input in this decision than he initially thought and there would be a huge backlash amongst former players, coaches and money guys if it isn't a Tennessee person. I tend to agree.

Basilio blog said that Blackburn wanted us to hire Whittingham, but the rest of the guys wanted Dooley... that's enough for me. Hire Blackburn

And those that wanted Dooley are holding a grudge because they were wrong, and Blackburn's decision would have turned out a lot better than Dooley. So, what do we do at TN? Hold grudges and not hire the best candidate.

Only difference is that those kids you are going to teach a lesson to are the ones who literally pay your salary for the most part.

I dont know how anyone can hold a grudge on someone for being anti dooley. If I had supported that guy I'd be doing everything I could to make it look like the opposite.

Like lol seriously, whoever pushed dooley into being our coach needs his keys taken away.

Couple of AD follow ups...

Obviously, with Cunningham not being a factor we are working to try and see what direction things go next.

Fulmer remains in it. Another name we are chasing and keeping a close eye on is Danny Morrison. Morrison is the former Carolina Panthers president. Obviously, with Jimmy Haslam's NFL ownership he knows Morrison. Peyton Manning knows him as well. Morrison has college ties and has noted he's looking for an opportunity of some kind at the college level.

Many of you have wondered aloud about Bohn from Cincinnati. Obviously, Dr. Davenport has a relationship with Bohn, but I'm not sure the committee is very high on him.

We think some formal interviews could start as early as mid to late week.

Update on Jennings:

A misdemeanor charge for marijuana possession against Tennessee starting wide receiver Jauan Jennings was dismissed Monday morning, according to a report from the Knoxville News Sentinel.

The charge, filed in connection with a Jan. 15 traffic stop near Tennessee's campus, was dismissed on payment of court costs Monday, the Knox County General Sessions Court Clerk's office confirmed to the News Sentinel.

Jennings, a rising junior for the Vols, was set for a bonded arraignment Monday. He did not appear in court, according to the report.

I'm definitely the problem.

Dad went to Alabama. Grew up an Alabama fan. Born in November 1985 so really didn't understand much about football until 1995. Admitted to UT in 2004, became a UT fan and eventually twice an alum.

1995-2003: Alabama won 1 game.

2004-2016: Tennessee won 2 games.

My team is like 3-18 in this rivalry.

Danny Morrison has been Carolina Panthers President since 2009 before that he was AD at TCU for 4 years and before that AD and Senior VP at Wofford for over 15 years. If Peyton signs off, I'm in.
