I know some don't get my disdain for Mac and cheese. That's fair. I don't get the resistance of mayo, and why so picky about brands. It's just egg and oil.

Joe. Only on mater sammiches?

Just one time try this. You too Hman. Put your cheese on the bread of your choice. Generously Spread some mayo on both outside pieces of the bread. Mayonnaise, not Miracle Whip. Make your grilled cheese sammich as normal except use nothing else.

Using mayo solves the biggest challenge of grilled cheese. How to get the inside to heat through before the outsides blacken. The oil and egg in mayo also brown and crisp more evenly than butter, creating a glossy crunch from edge to edge.

I may try it next time, but i better like it!😬😜

I don't eat mayo unless it's on a mater sandwich, but when I do, it's kraft.

You are right on the sandwich (just wrong on the mayo:)).

There are two other sandwiches that you can eat with mayo:

1) Sliced white turkey breast (about the only way I can eat turkey) with LOTS of pepper on it, and

2) Pineapple & cheese (must drain pineapple well and use grated cheese, I prefer Kraft or Sargento sharp cheddar).

Other than that, no to mayo!

Snob, Behr? Just recognize quality. (I am still mourning the lose of 3 Rivers corn meal.):cray:

I like Hellmanns or sometimes I make my own, but I ain't picky, as long as it's real mayo.

Pineapple and grated cheese sammich would be a terrible mess if you didn't drain the pineapple. Lawdz. :)

I've never had pineapple on a sandwich!

Mayo on the bread before the skillet produces one of the most glorious things ever.

just remember to use kraft mayo

Very nice. The colors, freshness and the way the carrots are cut, it's picture perfect.

Is it just me, or is that plate more shallow on one end than the other? If it is, that's awesome.

looks great, how does she make the broccoli...my kids love it, so I could try something new with them

after it's cooked and drained, put back in pot and add a couple tbsp sour cream, about 1/2 oz of grated parmesan cheese and 2 minced cloves of garlic and mash. salt and pepper to taste. very good!

Nice pairing with both the fig & balsamic and rosemary & mushrooms. They both make so much sense. If her dishes are as good as they look and are constructed, she's even better than what either of you may know. And that is an opinionated compliment by the way, not in any shape, form or fashion criticism. Just sometimes my "praise" is worded in such a fashion it gets misunderstood.

Impressive.

I'm certain that I am biased, but yes, they are as good.

She has obligated herself to enter multiple cooking contests this year. She has already submitted her recipe for spanakopita triangles to the Farmer's Almanac for their spinach recipe contest. Next up is a sun-dried tomato recipe contest. Later, a recipe contest that must include some brand of pancake and waffle mix.

I'm sure they are and glad you understood that was just a figure of speech and wasn't really questioning it.

That awesome to hear. No doubt she'll do well. I look forward to Any updates and information you're willing to share. If there is any way to support her, not sure how, but like Internet voting or anything like that, let us/me know, otherwise I'll just send good vibes her way.

Lol, I'm seriously excited for her, and you too. Can't wait to hear about it.

Thanks so much. When she switched over from her personal blog to the blog network she entered a Noosa recipe contest and won. She got a bunch of Bodum kitchen appliances and stuff.

Okay, so you both DO know how good she is.:)

That's so cool, I love new kitchen "stuff" especially free and because of an accomplishment. What was the recipe, if you don't mind me asking, obviously not the ingredients, just the dish?

My only "claim to fame" was winning a contest several years ago. In my defense, it was the only one I ever entered.:)
