Azzanni Departing to NFL

Do coaches fleeing, remind you of the Dooley years?
Yes, but back to back 9 win seasons, gives Jones a bit of a cushion and he may indeed need that cushion to make it through 2017, yes?

"Coaches" plural?
I know of one that was passed over for an in house promotion but managed an NFL gig?

Who all is "fleeing"?

Why are you folks enamored with guys like Welker who have no coaching experience or have never out recruited Alabama or LSU for a prospect ? This is Tennessee not some directional school who can take a chance on someone like Welker. Tennessee needs to replace Azzani with a high level recruiter who can also coach wide receivers

yeah, like D. Craig.

it's not like we renewed everyone's contract, then they left. the only one that left is CZA.

everyone else, the decision was ours, not theirs. fleeing is inaccurate to say the least. hell, even one of the guys we replaced stayed on staff in another role. if it was that bad, you think he'd of stuck around?

i hate that it sounds like i'm trying to defend all things CBJ, but jeez....enough with the spin. these are areas CBJ addressed from a position of upgrading.

now we can debate whether or not they're upgrades, but that's the "why" we have so many new faces. not because people are running from a burning building.

Sunshine Pumper imo.

We all know Debord fled because he had to worry about his future. Long career ahead you know.

Just put the 2016 Florida game on the big screen. Does anybody want to place any bets? I feel lucky.

Edit: "The 2nd Half."

Double Edit: It's 31-21.

Now Ga.

The Hurd fumble cost us future games.

As a Packer fan and Vol fan I am thrilled with this...now Chicago's WRs can badly underachieve.

It SHOULDN'T be hard to fill this job honestly, TN should be an attractive place for position coaches trying to climb the ladder.

disagree Jake..

DeBord left on his own..

Stripling left on his own...

Martinez and Mahoney were replaced by CBJ.. or they would have still been here.

Azzanni has been encouraged to leave for at least two years. finally found something. I think this is interesting with Zach. I wonder if he has decided to try pro because he has not been able to "advance" as a college coach?? He has tried to make a lot of moves in the last few years..

Do this gig for two year and become a QB coach for 3 years, then become an OC for 4 years and then be HC. 10 year plan(starting now).

Azzani was on Ainge's show today. Said that he wasn't looking to move on, was only wanting to try to help UT win a national title this year when the Bears called him out of nowhere and said his name kept coming up when the Bears were asking other SEC programs who they think is the best WR coach and who they'd recommend.....lol! I about bust a gut. Good luck to Z, but I'm calling major BS on what he told Ainge, ain't buying it for a second.

Sounds like someone else has been teaching him how to interview.

I just can't believe Azzani said that and expects us all to believe that's true.

Kudos to ZA for staying above-board and not feeding the perception that UT is the dumpster fire as some would think.

But did Butch try to talk DeBord into staying?

Stripling stayed with the program in a different capacity so isn't like he was trying to "jump ship"

I think Jake's point is that no one has left that we really wanted to keep so for some of these guys to say "rats are jumping off the sinking ship" isn't accurate.

Deboard wasn't coming back, though going to IU was a bit of a curve ball, strip is still on the staff.

CZA is still the only that really looks like "he bolted" is what i'm getting at.

it's still far from folks running from a burning building.
